After the worst month on record, Chinese ADRs are having the best month on record.

The china reopening rumors are still keeping the chinese stocks up.

It does not even matter if the rumors are true. Because we have seen a brief preview of what will happen to the markets once China does confirm the re-opening. You add on top off the Fed becoming dovish by doing a real pivot by pausing interest rate increases. If you are in the right sector your portfolio will FLY.

We must first crush the bearish sentiment with a fake bull run before we get the real crash.

The lower the stocks drop before powell's speech the higher the bounce will be.

Powell will most likely confirm the 50pt increase. Which means the market will have a small bounce. Whatever the fuck he says after that may crash the market. Chance are small though. The markets has been trying to front run whatever the hell powell wants to say is a good sign it will bounce. On top of that ASTROLOGY.

Whatever the fuck is going to happen next year. I can assure you it will not be a easy path for bears to short the market with easy 1000% gains. You only hedge if you are not confident in your trade. You shouldn't gamble with more than 5% of your entire portfolio on options.

What you faggots really need is proper risk management.

You only go all in on a trade when you have done enough research inside and out. Because it gives you an edge over the other plebs who don't understand wtf you are saying and can't contemplate why this fool is so goddammit bullish. Bullish to the point they get angry and want to short whatever you are holding. Then you know you might have a winner. Because they cannot see the opportunity, but you can because you done the work.

If he does a phone and integrates it with Tesla and Starlink somehow (which I think he will), then he'll have another solid product- one that I'll definitely get because iPhone is boring.
He's also about to control all the remote charging for electric cars (the whole network) and could effectively prevent the hater fags from using it. Nope. Tech was around since the early 20th century, true, but large manufacturers were not putting the funding into battery research at the time. When Tesla came out, the best hybrids couldn't go 8 miles on electric alone and couldn't exceed 30mph- I would know. No one thought it could be done. The logistics were insane (hence the charging network), and no one thought consumers would buy it. Yes, it wouldn't have happened without him. It might have been another 20 years or so until anything remotely in Tesla's category emerged. Fisker (Tesla's only rival at the time) basically went under.
Same goes for how he changed rockets/space travel. You know how much cheaper it is because of his tech? NASA couldn't fucking service shit or get enough satellites up. Completely upended governments.

>In terms of greeks, what is the benefit of holding leaps?
Leverage without the downside of volatility drag you get with LETFs. You can buy a Jan 2025 SPY call with a delta of 80 for $10,000. Which is a 1/4 of the price of SPY. The downside is that it does have higher exposure to vega due to the far exp date, but the higher delta lowers that somewhat. You would want to wait for a low IV% date to buy. It has minimal theta decay up until 45-60 days out. In which case you would roll or take profit. The low gamma is good as you don't want too much price movement do factor into your "equivalent" 80 shares of SPY. Liquidity is also an issue, but the major indexes aren't too bad. Especially if you set a good limit buy order and wait for it to get filled. You can also run poor man's covered calls with the LEAP to lower cost basis significantly, compared to buying 100 shares.

>You can also run poor man's covered calls with the LEAP to lower cost basis significantly
Yeah but then you run the risk of early expiry which is also disastrous; if you don't have enough money to afford the call, then shorting a put is going to hurt you if things move against you as well. I've heard of "christmas presents" and "april fools gifts" where people will exercise options at a loss to screw the counterparty
I forgot about vega, but usually you'd hedge that with a different expiry (though tbf I did ask about leaps specifically, not complex spreads).

>low gamma is good
Gamma is highest ATM, so would you just buy deep ITM to avoid gamma exposure? I suppose if you were bullish you could buy OTM but then you risk it not moving in your favor; though when the price nears your strike, you'll get a lot of gamma until it passes it up or down.

It's not all that bad, if you're reasonable and hedge yourself. For example, if you look at the breakevens on an ATM straddle you can see where the market has priced in price movement/volatility by that strike date. Just set your short strikes just beyond that and you should be fine, especially if there is a wall of options.
Not a guarantee of course, but like I said this is generally safe. Until it's not. That's options, baby!

You can use the delta of the CC's to find your probability of success, and probability of touch. You can and should roll your calls defensively/aggressively based on your risk tolerance. That's a different discussion entirely, but the ability exists to reduce cost basis.

>Gamma is highest ATM, so would you just buy deep ITM to avoid gamma exposure?
Gamma is also affected by exp date. It will automatically be low by buying a LEAP. The low gamma is generally a benefit in general, as you don't want your equivalent 80 shares of stock ranging from 20 to 100 on a weekly basis. You know that your 80 shares should increase slowly as price hopefully moves up. And will still hold value with a moderate downturn.

if the premium is that high for a 1.5% ITM put then that means bankruptcy is near guaranteed for the company

So it’s a $35 put, and the stock is at $20.60.

If im selling $35 puts that means I’m agreeing to buy bags @ $35 right?

Where do you get $12,000 in premium for only risking $3,500 in collateral?

>> No.52676890

>>52676825
i'm seeing about $14.65 as the last premium at 3500, so:
3500 - 1465 = 2035, and the stock is 21.72, so there's a difference of 137 there, so it's still profit, but only if the price doesn't go up
