1. No one cares about Web Assembly.
2. ICP only supports Rust and Motoko...for Web Assembly - nobody wants to learn fucking Motoko.

Or down below $1. I am still amazed by the amount of people that come out for ICP though. Like where is the same for ALGO and HBAR. Holy shit, where do you guys come from. It's not like you are a pajeet either. I don't understand.

Algorand is the only one which might match icp/btc integration with state proofs but so far it seems to have little progress

As for HBAR, it’s a centralised entity distributing the coins and will be sued instantly.

>Do ALGO or HBAR even bring anything truly valuable to the space?

Not really. Cheaper, faster ETH. Like a 1000 other shitcoins. HBAR is the fastest. ALGO is the easiest to use.

> ICP is so simple even a toddler could understand the value proposition

I get the theory, but getting up and running with ALGO was a 1000 times easier. As I said, ICP will remain slow, making it questionable for any real time applications. Centralization is an issue. I also don't know how they will guarantee host performance / stability over time.

I think the best way to explain ICP is "The imaginary app from Silicon Valley" - it seems to pretty much be the only coin going for distributed hosting.

The problem is that it's not really distributed, it doesn't have cycle allocation / spreading between hosts down, and requires you to pretty much run a data center to be accepted.

With all those things in mind, it just doesn't solve the problem that it's setting out to solve. And again, fucking Motoko is a waste of everyone's time.

The Bitcoin integration enables Internet Computer canisters to hold bitcoin addresses and function as wallets that can hold, receive, and send bitcoin by controlling ECDSA signing keys. Bitcoin smart contracts can be securely developed around native bitcoin, and can hold their own bitcoin keys natively and securely.

This opens up new possibilities for use cases involving bitcoin, such as social platforms like OpenChat allowing users to transfer bitcoin via instant message and dapps like Spinner supporting private bitcoin transactions using zero-knowledge proofs.

""

icp dapps can control bitcoins instead of using ((WBTC))

the super mario 64 thing really opened a lot of anon's eyes I think - that's what made me start looking into it and playing around with motoko at least.

not gonna tell you what to do, but I can tell you haven't looked very hard at icp. dyor fren

/biz/ is no place to seek answers like this, but basically cannisters will be able to interact with the bitcoin network by signing for transactions and stuff.
Smart contracts can't do this, because they're relatively limited in their scope and capabilities (more fundamentally due to block sizes, etc).
Cannisters on the other hand can perform much more resource intensive tasks and maintain the public, permissionless and transparent aspect of smart contracts.

but don't listen to me, I could literally be anyone. I might even be the CEO of dfinity. find this shit out yourself nigger
