GNU is basically the chad license, meaning that whatever project is under it, has to have all of its source code open sourced
It's also copy left, meaning that whichever project forks/uses the GNU licensed project, has to also be licensed under the GNU licensed (meaning, if you fork open source code, you have to open source your changes as well)
Linux is under GNU license
MIT is also a copy left license, but MIT allows you to do pretty much anything you want with the source code with 0 responsibility
FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FireFlyBSD are examples of MIT licensed OSes
Why is it a cuck license now you ask? iOS/MacOS is based on FreeBSD for instance... they used years of hard work of some devs for free and made one of the biggest, most greedy corporations ever.

The switch to MIT license is probably the biggest happening in the last 3 years of crypto. This basically allows researchers from MIT to perform blockchain data analysis on quantum computers to find any bugs or exploits and use Machine Learning to write more sophisticated code, which allows for bigger block sizes (1mb to 30gb, using .zip compression algorithm). MIT grants also allow the devs to pay for blockchain development and security. This is a huge step up.

If it makes its way on to a single college reading list, Hell will have frozen over."[42]

Historian Russell Jacoby was critical in his review of Gelernter's book America-Lite, saying it contained insufficient arguments.
