>What is Algorand
Algorand is an open source permissionless public blockchain based on a pure proof-of- stake consensus protocol—the first of its kind to support the scale, open participation, and transaction finality for billions of users.

anyone else here shorting eth due to the staking rug? it seems like an obvious play

ETH is outdated tech and their foundation didnt even implement unstaking
MATIC is 100% made by and for jeets, there is no difference in virtual machines between ETH and MATIC, so you are just betting people miraculously switch to an exact same network for no benefit
ALGO foundation sucks massive cock and spends money on useless shit left and right, but the tech is the best in the game
AVM is completely superior to EVM and the only reason not every dev switched yet is because they have to learn a new language (TEAL [or PyTEAL, or Reach, or Beaker] instead of Solidity)
The real choice is between ETH and ALGO, you either bet on the continuation of ETH usability (unlikely with their high as shit fees during actual usage) or on a relatively new project which has proven itself through a bear market already

swapped al my algos for stbl to stake 12% APR on algofi. Currently have a 2k stbl stack that I reinvest stake reward everyday for compounding. Atm it's like 0.7 stbl per day.

A-am I gonna make it?

Best way to stake ALGO? I don't have enough to participate in governance yet. I was keeping it on my Ledger while the shit was hitting the fan with FTX, assuming Coinbase would have problems too. Should I move mine back to CB for 5.75% or is there a better option?

>> No.52653216

>>52653113
so you sold all your algos
if algo pumps you have 0 algos to benefit from it

>> No.52653253

>>52653216
isn't it more profitable to stake stablecoin over the long term?

>> No.52653273

>>52653208
probably governance, coinbase is doing governance with your algos anyway but they take a cut
or you could provide LP for ALGO/USDC algofi or tinyman and then stake those LP tokens to earn yield, thats like 20% apr and youre hedged both ways if algo pumps/dumps but read up on impermanent loss

>> No.52653287

>>52653253
its more profitable if ALGO price does not go up, so for bear markets it should be good
but since you are not holding any ALGO, you will not benefit if ALGO appreciates in value, you are holding a stablecoin after all

that looks like a good setup
>>52653208
i think coinbase will make it through this bear market but still recommend keeping your tokens off chain. if you have usdc you can stake on tinyman for nearly a 20% apr yield. if you only have algo algofi is your best bet. desu i swapped some algo for the chip asa token. i think the algorand casino is going to boom along with the token.

>coinbase is doing governance with your algos anyway but they take a cut
I understand that. I don't have problem with it. Is it considered safe or risky keeping it on an exchange still?
>read up on impermanent loss
Seems potentially too risky for my taste. But thank you for the response fren.

Any chance it can bounce back during a bull run? Basically threw some casino money at it, but it’s frustrating how they’ve squandered their first mover advantage

You’re on AlgoFi V1, aren’t you? STBL is being slowly but surely depreciated, STBL2 (actual name) is the new stablecoin. You can stake various liquidity pool tokens in order to earn swap fees, lending interest on their underlying assets, and AlgoFi’s governance token BANK. You can also stake and lock up BANK to boost your BANK rewards. STBL offers 12% APR right now but liquidity is quickly drying up, come to V2.
