I haven't looked at the options structure for KOLD, but typically when the underlying rises 10% in a day on short term near the money options, those options reprice higher. In other words, you're losing money on your short call portion of the trade.
You haven't made "realized gains" selling covered calls unless you've closed the whole position out. If you're holding the whole position until expiration then it's not a realized gain for the overall position, since you're still at risk of KOLD reversing lower.

I don't really care precisely how much money you've made, but don't try to bullshit.

You're holding a position. That's not a realized gain.

You can buy back those covered calls and realize a loss, and your position would shift to an unhedged long KOLD play. Alternatively you can close out the whole position and realize a loss on the calls offsetting a gain on (at least part of) you KOLD shares. Finally, you can hold until expiration and extract the $700 call premium, although in that case you haven't realized any gains yet because it entirely depends where KOLD shares are trading at that point in time. A small decline in KOLD would offset any gains from the premiums.

That's fine if you want to think of it that way, but objectively you're wrong. What you're holding is functionally equivalent to a put. You've collected the premium of selling the put, but you're still on the hook for the shares at expiration.

I often suffer the same bias, writing my short puts off as worthless before they've actually expired. The greed to avoid paying that 5 cent bid/ask spread on an option that's essentially rerated to worthless rarely comes back to bite me, but it does happen occasionally.
