>most books just repeat simple concepts 50 times
Not in my experience. I read mostly history books and there's lots of facts there, told using historical sources and I found there is little repetition.
I also don't really have a problem with some repetition, it helps to understand and remember better.
My problem is that authors very often are wrong about some thing (as little as this thing can be as part of the overall information in the book), they're simply biased against ideas alternative to the mainstream (esotericism and nazism, most of all) and it isn't rare that the same author contradicts himself in a book. I'm speaking of academic works here.
What's a much worse problem is that there is lots of nonsense in books that are philosophical, in the sense that they show the author's view of the world. For example I had to stop reading a book on astrological houses by Dane rudhyar because there was little fact and mostly dumb and useless metaphysics and theology. I learned nothing from that shitty book.
I started a new better book where so far tells about the historical interpretation of the houses and its also very critical of shitty modern astrology.

Technical books are entirely unnecessary in the current era of internet and smartphones. Novel story and puzzle books are all that remain of reasonable usage. Yes, you CAN walk to the store, but most people, especially boomers, use a vehicle. After a certain point, you need to admit that your nostalgic fetish for inferior forms of communication are a hindrance propped up by an outdated system of academia scamming its clients and, beyond, it has no reasonable usage, having been made obsolete via the natural progress of technology, much like all other aspects of the lead-brained 30 year-old boomer life.

Dumb take because he is only factoring in time. Nutrition is one of the main drivers of health. If you eat garbage someone else prepared you will not be able to track macros and will end up fat or nutrient deficient leading to low energy. Only way you can guarantee high protein healthy meals is to make them yourself.

I actually agree with him.
I taught myself to read using books and quickly found that most books wern't good for relaying information especially when it comes to fiction, there are some books that are needed like coding and historical data but 99% of books are just repeated trash to make the author money.

Also books aren't a good way of reading, computers/screens that don't require bending the neck or focusing the eyes are much better at least for my brain.

I'm also severely autistic and dropped out in the third grade, my ex assumed because I don't read books that I must be low IQ, she could never beat me in tests even though she was on the deans list at UMKC.

zoomers have zero attention span so they cannot focus enough to read a book, they have been raised on instant dopamine loops (not their fault)
