Well, I was originally a NoCoiner, but after a lot of studying and analysis, I think there are some pretty useful utility tokens, like Filecoin. Even if it doesn't make you rich, it's still pretty cool, and I state it to support the network.

XMR and LTC seem to be the only true cryptos. BTC is being absorbed by tradfi, it seems. Still capable of being something big though.

i do too. lately i've been more and more suspicious about the possibility of shit like crypto becoming the token standard for an inevitable future currency driven VR reality. account channels from jagex that let you buy digital badges from stores and events from a virtual reality event or whathaveyou using your osrs gold.

if space travel can successfully operate (peacefully too) into mining asteroids for gold and other precious metals then quantum computing will become a thing and so many people will have money in crypto that the government will have no other option but to prop up META for a much longer secured future.

I got into bitcoin because of my hate of fractional reserve banking. I always understood and knew that the only way to make it, is if enough sovereign enemy states of the US would adopt bitcoin as a currency. The Fed and treasury would always go all out and defend the dollar; in an unregulated market and with anonymous wallets I knew that many 'whales' are just fronts for SS ops to run bitcoin into the ground. FTX was another example, and the push for tether to fall will be next in their defense. Do I expect to become rich? No, not really. I am willing to ride it into the ground if it damages the US dollar. I'm willing to hold and even buy more if it brings other nations on the side of bitcoin. It seems Russia keeps flirting with adding bitcoin to a basket of currencies that would be based on mineral resources and bitcoin taking place of electricity. So I'm not hopeless yet. WW3 is a financial war and we are only just in the opening act.

Could be profitable in the short term, but won't be profitable in the long term. Currencies have value because they're state-backed, which means the people who use them trust them. The only reasons crypto ever caught on in the first place is because the 1) the post-2008 mismanagement of the economy by a liberal government is so bad that any alternative becomes appealing and 2) because the speculative economy that's built up over the last century makes short-term crypto investing profitable, making it seem, on the surface at least, profitable. But there's no reason to think the post-2008 norm will be the 2100 norm.

>> No.52634708

I think it's funny that crypto investors almost universally accept that its primary value is using it to make more fiat.
