It's stunning when you see a kilo of gold going for $130,000. It really makes you consider that outside of providing you with services and consumer goods, this capitalist country is actually dogshit in providing people with actual capital. $100,000k is a lot of money, but when visualized in physical form it's really not all that much. I feel the need to sit back and reflect on this, as I feel like the larger the quantity of gold the more absurd it starts to feel. Even one ounce of gold is extremely expensive relative to how many hours of work needed to buy one ontop of paying all of your other bills.

Buying my first ounce of gold and feeling the satisfying but ultimately fairly light weight in my hand was what made me realize that fiat currency is an absolute joke. I recommend anyone stacking silver to get themselves at least one gold coin or bar. There's a moment when you stare at it where the entire history of finance between 1913 and today flashes before your eyes and you can never really go back. I used to hoard paper money but losing thousands simply to inflation in the last two years opened my eyes. Don't let the fudders get to you bros, we won't be millionaires when it all collapses but we will be relative to the other poor goyim

I think you are correct. The dollar system was procuring a seemingless endless supply of goods to buy/sell from abroad that definitely warped everyone's view of what an economy actually is. The financialization of our economy was done partially for the needs of the rest of the world needing more dollars to transact and buy oil, and in doing so there is a balloon full of hot air we are all sitting on while all of these financial intruments are sloshing around. If the world stops sending us boatloads of cheap goods, we still see that "capital units" such as gold are still quite expensive relative to the other types of consumer goods available. Outside of being a consumer, we really aren't all that wealthy unless you are able to lock in paper-ponzi profits.
In terms of conceptualizing actual finance, I believe it is correct to see PMs as "wealth" and not an investment. My stock portfolio is an investment, my cash is cash. PMs are something no one can take from me and can not be confiscated via inflation. All massive profits from things like crypto, stock gains etc you should have a plan to "lock in" and the only way to do that is to stack.

>And i'm getting better at detecting stuff too, so i'm less afraid to dive in when need. In just few weeks i progressively lowered my "wanted" entry price from $18 (yikes in retrospect) down to now not touching anything above $14/oz! I'll be ebaymaxxing everyday and hopefully one day i'll be able to reach your level of cheapies.

You're doing really well frogfren you must have a natural eye and good instincts; many people simply don't possess the traits necessary to be a superior scrapper so keep exercising and sharpening those skills. You'll definitely get your average price lower as you discover new search strategies and become better at recognizing good silver by eye alone when hallmarks aren't clearly visible in the pics, for example I can do that pretty easily with old American coin silver now because of the distinctive way the stuff was constructed. Your big chunky ~1710 silverware sounds amazing, offhand I don't know what old French silver is worth as I don't have much experience with it but would imagine that Napoleon I era and earlier silver is worth good money to collectors, I'd love to see pics. Most silver available in the USA is younger so I don't see much that's from before the late 1700s. Most 18th century silver here is English and usually isn't worth much but I save most of it anyway because the old 100% handmade silver is very interesting and has tons of character. I also save the nice 1850s and earlier American coin silver items, again they aren't usually worth much over melt but I find the stuff very appealing and full of sovl. The situation in France is different so you'll have to figure out what works best, definitely research the old silver and different silversmiths as some may be very desirable, like old antebellum American coin silver made in the southern states, some of it goes for 10-20x melt or more it's pretty impressive. Keep up the good work my scrapfren.

if youre looking to buy, i personally like the asahi rounds so id say yes, but shop around to be sure

we are at a local price run-up since gold moved a bit after "good" inflation numbers (they stil werent good), but this price increase is fresh off the biggest gold price cratering in a long time. we are still far below gold's record highs of nearly 2000 per ounce which was 2ish years ago. price action doesnt fluctuate majorly unless their is news on metrics which affect investors behavior such as cei numbers, changing interest rates, war, etc etc. and when the price moves, it is usually instantly or over the course of a dsy or so. if you are truly in the market for gold, i think its a decent spot price to buy at, and SD bullion kinebar deal is a way to get fractional gold and avoid the crazy premiums right now if its still available

silver is more volatile but generally follows gold price action but not always in 1 to 1 fashion, for example we saw gold dump recently with silver maintaining spot price of around 20, but that behavior doesnt happen often. people stack silver because using gold in day to day transactions is impractical. of course everyone wants gold, it doesnt tarnish and is more valuable, however , silver has been used as money for thousands of years for every day use , it is the peoples money. stacking gold is for banks, governments, and kings. i wouldnt go full retard into metals but i think everyone should have exposure to it as insurance against currency collapse since USD hold kn reserve currency is tenuous

>>52611496
britannias are more recognizable than a generic round and in theory, less likely to be counterfeit because there are harsher penalties for counterfeiting govt currency and there are security features on the coins whereas most generic rounds hsve none (possibly scottsdale reserve rounds could be considered a round with security features). govt issue vs generic also has some tax implications in some jurisdictions but i wouldnt worry about that. in theory, there is also some numismatic value to a coin, even though it is a bullion piece. if someone years from now wanted a britannia from every year, they may have to pay more for older ones. generic rounds do not have this hypothetical upside.

>> No.52612581

Anons, I was thinking about debtmaxxing for PMs if there is an egregious drop like silver to $15 and gold to $1500. Not too much, but something like $12k. What do you guys think?

>> No.52612661

>>52612581
As compelling as the case is for PMs and the collapse of the bond market and dollar. We honestly have no idea how long it can take for this all to unwind. That event is going to be catastrophic and no one wants to see it happen, so global participation from PREVENTING it is a certainty. The BRICS will garner more negotiating power while all nations continue 10%+ inflationary policies to help alleviate the debt burdens. And I imagine we could simmer in this economic malaise for years possibly. Debt maxing on credit and actually coming out ahead is very tough as you only have a tiny window to make that happen, and premiums+CC fees are pushing your cost basis far higher than what you want.

Hey bros I have a question about a marking and maybe some of you can help me out.

This is a platinum ring with pearls and diamonds, a little emerald in center, is vintage possibly antique. Belonged to my great grandparents, but do not know when they acquired it. Anyone know about jewelry?

Hey, we still have your images and we did talk to the mint about how it would be reflected if we went with those changes, their concern is the decreased nose size will cause issues in striking and finishing. The sample they sent was sent to the same people that did their normal plating and their QC is a bit shit unless you hound them (i am assured by our guy at the mint they will be hounded because they dont want a repeat of the yotsuba situation we had). so whatever the process is on the plating does some weird stuff to the coin. the eyes turned out really good though despite the plating process giving her skin cancer. We have noticed it happens to the side opposite that gets the gilding which is interesting but preventable.

DTDS posted a very interesting chart today. It's JPM's silver flow in/out of Comex.
>stopped = boughted
>issued = solded

We can see they massively slurped from 2015 to late 2019, while the price was maintained under water. Then the scamdemic occur, inflation quickly follow through, ppl panic, and since then JPM couldn't buy anything, but were forced to dump over and over again.
Their war chest is getting seriously depleted. They still have some, but how long can it last?

No anon. I do want to see it happen. The world has strayed too far from God for too long. The destruction of the empire of usury must happen and it must be catastrophic to inflict maximum psychological trauma into the population that survives it. The scars left on the psyche of those that live through this event must be so deep and so severe that anyone who would ever dare mention a return to a system of usury for the next half millennia will be lynched without second thought. I don't know if we'll reach levels of cataclysm like this, we shall see.

The only time horizon I am waiting on is the collapse of the bond market. During the Weimar hyperinflation, many people sold items thinking they were rich, only to watch asset prices not stop moving higher.
The thing to remember is that you cannot create a "free lunch" with finance and accounting. All of their power lies in being able to shift losses around, and the $46TN bond market represents a literal fuckton of losses. Also, I fully expect the system to watch to ease us into the boiling pot of water rather than ripping the band-aid off. We could very well simmer in 10% inflation economies for far longer than we expect if there is international cooperation.

That's a good point. But more like easily recognizable silver. Security features are a nice plus, but won't be a determining factor. Having well known, easy to identify gubment minted coins will.
I always said this, the standardization of coins (marking for origin's tracability, value and weight denominated on the surface) was the most important factor to the adoption of precious metals as medium of exchange. And if there is three things you should avoid like plague while stacking, it's silver shots, unmarked 'fantasy' jewels and home-made hand-poured bars. With no marking, thus no guarantee of origin, who will trust you when the time comes to trade your silver for other stuff?
Sure you can test it in front of the buyer with nitric acid, but the the cycle repeat.. and what a pain in the ass.

I really hope, with demand ever increasing, that soon a company will develop a cheap, pen-shaped spectrometer who can fit in your pocket. Just like mini fiat notes testing machines exist nowaday, but used to be the size of a printer.

How exactly? Are you assuming that there would not be severe perturbations in the system that have not yet happened? For instance I can see a long drawn out decline as a possibility, but not when you consider all the catalysts that could cause massive default cascades. Things like gas pipelines getting blown up, China fucking with Taiwan, that massive raft of oil tankers Russia and China are using to circumvent sanctions gets fucked. Plus the deindustrialization of the entire European continent as its too expensive to run any equipment of any kind. These people are not God, they cannot predict everything and they cannot make the base commodities we need magically appear out of the ground.

Look at this copper deficit they're predicting, this is just one commodity

And whatever the actual catalyst is in the end I promise you it will be in the one direction that no one was looking, it always is.

What will actually happen is that a lot of places will install XRF thermo coin machines where you top up your store credit then use your card once you've done your shop. Yes of course. But all our macro economic signals are telling us that we are beyond that point already. There is no way that the FED can raise rate to a level near 20%, at the last time we saw inflation like this, that is what it took. If they try that now, the music stops very quickly. So if we know they can't do that they there is only one other possibility, a pivot. At what point is unclear but they have already begun to slow rate increases because the pressure is building. The near implosion of the Gilt market a month ago gives us an idea of how high the pressure is. When they pivot this time, foreign held USD denominated debt will start to default because as bad as the American economy might be, the rest of the world is unimaginably worse. All of the foreign worthless paper is built on top of the US useless paper. In the business they call that a double-whams.

If the foreign held debt defaults, the FED will need to print dollars to keep the USD exchange rate stable. If those countries facing default of their USD debt start dumping treasury bonds in order to prevent default, the FED will have to buy those bonds off the market (by printing dollars), as the bond values will drop as they are dumped on the market, resulting in more countries entering default. This is the default cascade and the FED will desperately try to stop it.

Both of these things will accelerate the hyperinflation of the USD because the FED will be printing fuckloads of money.

Don't focus too much on hoarding shit right now and live your life to the full.
Being financially savvy is nice and savings and rainy days money will come in handy. But you are in your best years and there's nothing like travelling and living life to the fullest
Going out of your comfort zone, meeting a bunch of people and living new experiences will make you wiser, it's a great investment in yourself

Noted. I travel when I can (been to 25 states) and when I can do so for cheap. I had a vacation out of state this year for the first time in a while with family and it was quite fun.
I hope to get a wfh job eventually to enable more travel but I'd still like to save lots of money too when I'm young haha. I I feel like I like saving (and stacking gold) more than fun most of the time desu. I'm uncertain of the future and would like to be a little more prepared in case some shit goes down. But I'm not a full on schizo either and understand that living a litttle bit is good too.
