This is a nobrainer. LTC will get back to its rightfull place in crypto. Expect it to go to number 5 or higher. The crypto that always prevailed the test of time are eth, btc and ltc, as they deliver products that work and have been proved to work for years now. I do have high hopes for other projects like chainlink, but the solutions they will provide need complex Computer science and a lot of work to do right, making them way more risky.

Ngl Litecoin is probably worth grabbing a bag right now. It can't be killed. Ltc, btc, xmr are the only fair-release pow coins.

precisely. Also, now with the risk of a regulation crackdown on crypto due to ftx, litecoin will remain untouched, as it is a digital commodity, just like btc. It will never be marked as a security.

litecoin is the perfect definition of a half assed implementation. It's a shitty half assed version of bitcoin and has half assed privacy solutions that are just as terrible as bitcoin privacy. Still has ASICs controlling the network. being "low fee" is no longer a selling point when every other project has low fees or in some cases no fees.

LTC was fair-released? How did Charlie Lee accumulate so much LTC if there was no premine and how exactly did he time the top? IMO Charlie Lee saw that he was too late for BTC so he copied the Bitcoin code base, made a few alterations and released it. This way he had a part of it from the start. Then he sold the top

There was absolutely no need for Litecoin. It did nothing for the cryptocurrency space. Lee essentially changed the block time and hashing algorithm and that was pretty much it. It's not exactly as bad as BCH and BSV in how they just forked Bitcoin and created assets out of nothing. But Lee still needlessly created yet another currency, using the Bitcoin code base in order for him to mine from t=0

No, backward K doesn't do anything. LTC does some things.

Even though I don't mind litecoin, the only reason I use it at all is the litecoin card. I can't for the life of me understand how Litecoin has a debit card that allows you to hold your debit balance in LTC but BTC doesn't. Honestly it's kinda embarrassing for BTC that this doesn't exist

>But Lee still needlessly created yet another currency, using the Bitcoin code base in order for him to mine from t=0

Nailed it.

When litecoin was created lots of bitcoiners called it a scam. GPU proof? It obviously wasn't and why would that be desirable?

It seems quaint now though, looking back-- because litecoin was 100x less scammy than many popular things that came later. Massive premines, dishonest claims (at least Lee could credibly claim to have believed the no-gpu claims), falsely pretending to be bitcoin, vicious lawsuits against actual bitcoin devs (hi there BSV!).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but whenever you transact with the card, the cost is transferred from LTC to fiat, therefore you don't really transact in LTC. It's still a prepaid fiat card. In which case there are a bunch of similar cards that work with BTC. I have a prepaid debit card in BTC via ShakePay. While it's strictly Canadian, I'm sure there are similar cards in abundancy elsewhere.

FYI, the way my card works is as follows: Top card with fiat. When making purchases, you receive 1% cashback in sats. After accumulating sufficient sats, you convert them to fiat and make additional purchases. I'm guessing it's like the Litecoin card except in your case the LTC card makes the switch from LTC -> fiat automatically while I have to do it manually.

What do you think of the Litecoin card?

I think the future of Bitcoin largely depends on Lightning. If Lightning succeeds, Ripple goes to Hades and every other cryptocurrency except perhaps Monero due to its niche.

The only thing that scares me with regards to Bitcoin is the diminishing mining rewards and the hashrate that could fall significantly if miners disappear from the network.

>> No.52534305

>>52534206
Yep, you're right about how the card works. At the end of the day it still just gets sold for fiat, but the UX from an end user perspective is fantastic. Simple and to the point. Deposit coins onto the card, spend as you normally would. No trying to predict your exact spending amount up front or do manual conversions.
If a btc card held the balance in sats I wouldn't have to angst about when to sell a bunch of BTC to handle the weeks/months expenses. I would just deposit a sufficient amount and it would get sold as I spent without the complexity.
Anyways I've been looking and unfortunately there are no BTC options for this at least in the US. Shakepay seems interesting and maybe the strike card will be decent though I think it will just spend out of your dollar balance vs your btc balance
