How much do small grocery shops / restaurants spend on paper bags monthly? I am not from the US and visiting temporarily, but as I see it there is a shitload of paper bags being used every day. I crosschecked the bulksale of the paper bags and looks like I can get the same quality/quantity paper bags from my home country at 1/8th price compared to US. I am thinking about contacting a few shop owners and ship half a container of paper bags to US, is there something am I missing burger anons? Looks very profitable even after international freight costs.

Definitely, they already buy from your country wherever you're living and probably from China too. I did the same research but for laundry supplies. Many US factories got killed by China

It's an ultra ultra low margin product. You're talking 0.00001 cents per tonne.
It's like toilet rolls, they're incredibly cheap to buy and produce but very bulky to ship. You could have a pallet of iPhones taking up the exact same room as a pallet of toilet paper. One is worth a million dollars the other is worth less than a hundred dollars but the shipping cost is virtually identical. Shipping cheap shit like toilet rolls and paper bags makes no sense, it's normally a local supplier who corners the market because they don't have to pay shipping container rates.

Tl:Dr truck driver here. It doesn't matter if it's iPhones or paper bags a pallet takes up the same space on the truck and you pay for space plus distance.
