I have seen this many time on this board, can anyone tell if this is anywhere near accurate? I don't expect market movers exact to the day but I can't spot any bubbles from the past in this either. Also a time range between 4-5 Years between ups and downs seems also pretty long, you could also say buy low sell high.

It’s not perfect but still fairly accurate
29 instead of 27 was a major peak
99 was the tech crash, called correctly but the down trend didn’t last until 2005
07 was the next major peak though, called that right, 2019 crash didn’t happen until 2021 but they tried hard to put the top in during Covid
I would be interested in a statistical analysis but it looks more accurate than anyone could predict

yield inversion occured in 2019 and it would have been the cycle top if lockdowns had not given them an excuse to print trillions.

human psychology related to finance is a strange phenomena. people keep making the same mistakes in terms of forgetfulness and greed over and over again at semi predictable intervals

2020 but that’s close enough
No prediction model will be 100% accurate but this one looks good compared to how simple it is

Is this is one of those charts that's made to look like it's really old but was made recently?

I think so.

>graph is too neat
>the mix of these faux-vintage fonts looks very contemporary
>letters are too cleanly and perfectly aligned (it was done by a computer and not by a human hand like in printed stuff from 50-100 years ago)
>no period at the end of the last sentence, like a shitpost
>double space in the second line of the “C” section (i.e. it was typed on a computer)
>paper looks dirty in the center for no reason
>the signature with the date “1875” is an obvious trick (why would someone sign a printed card anyway?)

Can’t fool my autism.

It's like the GRRM's ASOIAF prophesies: they do happen but with some weird twist.

What I found out about it is in this article, but whether it's all true or not I can't say.

Yeah, so the pic in OP is fake vintage. Pic related really looks from the 19th century though.

the cyclical theory is real, but that picture was likely made much later and extended the cycles to predict much further ahead in time

>Samuel Benner was a prosperous farmer who was wiped out financially by the 1873 panic. When he try to discern the causes of fluctuations in markets, he came across a large degree of cyclicality.
>Benner eventually published his findings in a book in 1875 — BENNERS PROPHECIES: FUTURE UPS AND DOWNS IN PRICEs – making business and commodity price forecasts for 1876 -1904. Many (but not all) of these forecasts were fairly accurate.
