What he says is true of most philosophy/concept writings. I once had to read an entire book about the concept of infinity. You can explain infinity in like 30 seconds to a toddler. Yet I was still forced to read a book that was basically just "okay so it would be like you go in any direction, but forever, or you divide a thing and you can always divide it again." Okay got it chief. "Okay but if you had infinite peanut.."

Allow me to summarize Rich dad poor dad for instance :
"identify the diffrence between assets and liabilities. Things that make money and things that don't. Buy things that make money." There, now you don't have to read the rest of the book which is just shilling his tedtalks and a boring story irrelavent to most people that is the same "le self made" story of "and then my dad plopped a free 250k in my lap and by golly I pulled myself up from my bootstraps!"

The goy must not know everything. Some important subjects you have to work for because you don't even know that they exist.

Brainlet detected. You read/write a book about Infinity because the first question a critical thinker asks when you explain the basic concept is, "Okay, but who gives a fuck? It's not even real" and then you explain an actual use for it in Mathematics, and then more questions arise, and you give more answers/examples, and on it goes until you have a whole book's worth of material.

Maybe you just think books are pointless because you're in the habit of thinking like an NPC who's accustomed to uncritically accepting any piece of information in front of him at face value, and never really feel any impetus to think through its implications. And maybe that's exactly how the SBF's of the world want you to be, too.

The last man (German: Letzter Mensch) is a term used by the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche in Thus Spoke Zarathustra to describe the antithesis of his theorized superior being, the Übermensch, whose imminent appearance is heralded by Zarathustra. The last man is the archetypal passive nihilist. He is tired of life, takes no risks, and seeks only comfort and security. Therefore, The Last Man is unable to build and act upon a self-actualized ethos.

The last man's first appearance is in "Zarathustra's Prologue". According to Nietzsche, the last man is the goal that modern society and Western civilization have apparently set for themselves. After having unsuccessfully attempted to get the populace to accept the Übermensch as the goal of society, Zarathustra confronts them with a goal so disgusting that he assumes that it will revolt them – a culture which seeks only passive comfort and routine, avoiding everything that could potentially bring risk, pain, or disappointment. Zarathustra fails in this attempt, and instead of repelling and manipulating the populace into pursuing the goal of the Übermensch, the populace take Zarathustra literally and choose the "disgusting" goal of becoming the last men. This decision leaves Zarathustra disheartened and disappointed.

Nietzsche warned that the society of the last man could be too barren and decadent to support the growth of healthy human life or great individuals. The last man is only possible by mankind having bred an apathetic person or society who loses the ability to dream, to strive, and who become unwilling to take risks, instead simply earning their living and keeping warm. The society of the last man is antithetical to Nietzsche's theoretical will to power, the main driving force and ambition behind human nature, according to Nietzsche, as well as all other life in the universe.

Jesus, this thread is full of midwits who never tried to get at anything.
Once you dive deep into a topic you have to rely on knowledge/research of other people. And these things don't fit into a blog post. The more complicated a topic becomes, the more context the writer has to provide to make his point across.

I ain't complaining. I work in digital marketing and data science. The amount of money in this industry is mind-boggling. There is a race to capture as much people's attention as possible. It got to a point where disconnecting from internet is somewhat of an event that happens a couple of times a year for several days. Taking time out of your day to read or spend time with your loved ones is becoming a luxury.

Nobody forces people to consume online content or use apps. The do it because they like it or marketing. The only entity that sort of takes your data seriously is gov't, but this is a pretty bar to begin with.

He's right on this one though

There are two kinds of ideas:
Big ideas that are really "understandings", things that cannot even be reliably communicated through writing necessarily, these are things like skills, mindsets, nuanced perspectives on things, like how an alcoholic learns to be a nonalcoholic, no one set of words/datasets will convince them

and then there are small/practical ideas, ideas for which brevity is ideal, they're really just the expression of categories, degrees, uncontroversial facts
(like this post)

Epstein, Maxwell, Gates, Musk and Bankman-Fried are just frontmen for various interests both governmental and private. The deal is that they're given fabulous wealth and in exchange they'll put forward ideas that on the outside appear to be for the betterment of humanity when in reality the people who are really pushing the ideas have extremely sinister motivations and if the majority of people knew they were the ones behind these ideas they would be far more hostile to them.
If those same ideas are pushed by wacky billionaire philanthropists who have no prior history or sinister familial ties then a large majority of people will take those ideas more seriously because if Elon Musk says something it must be true because Elon is super rich and super rich people are obviously very, very smart because that's the key to making shitloads of money.

Every "reader" and "bookworm" I have ever met is literally a faggy useless numale or a woman who likes to pretend she's Emily Dickinson living in the Victorian Era. For complete retards yes, books could potentially be a waste of time. You don't know what to read, you're usually a lot slower at reading, you might be better off fishing for simple information off the internet.

For professionals in real jobs, ie. not speculation nonsense (including futures), reading books is often a must. If you object to buying a book and reading it you can get it off the internet and read it off your screen.

A book is just a large amount of text and/or illustrations all put in one place. I would actually say the inverse to what SBF is saying, that if you never have a book of reasonable quality to write you probably are neither smart not accomplished nor experienced much in life.

Goldfish-attention span zoomers and millennicucks lash out at books because their brains have been wired from childhood for rapid and incisive spurts of attention through their massive overconsumption of social media and tik-tok. It's no wonder that they can't read a single page without their attention span breaking, and unable to concentrate and focus on the words in front of them. They're used to a constant, and novel, flood of stimulating dopamine. They're literally goy-cattle that silicon valley has molded into the perfect NPC. If any humans want to learn more about this phenomenon, read pic related.

"All the people you see, all the people you know, all the people you may get to know, are machines, actual machines working solely under the power of external influences, as you yourself said. Machines they are born and machines they die. How do savages and intellectuals come into this? Even now, at this very moment, while we are talking, several millions of machines are trying to annihilate one another. What is the difference between them? Where are the savages and where are the intellectuals? They are all alike..."

"It is possible to stop being a machine, but for that it is necessary first of all to know the machine. A machine, a real machine, does not know itself and cannot know itself. When a machine knows itself it is then no longer a machine, at least, not such a machine as it was before. It already begins to be responsible for its actions."

There was a time I used to read one book per day.
The prison library only allowed to rent 8 books per week but I was allowed 15.
Let me explain it so you zoomers can understand.
Reading the Bible is like playing GTA on cheat mode. It's like having a game-guide to tell you where all hidden easter eggs in the game are. It's like watching your favorite YouTube streamer playing a game, so you know what to do next when you decide to play the game.

Being a Christian is like being in a cool streetgang. You kill and fight for each other, protecting your brothers, against the "ops" (jews, lefties, satanists, other religions) who always want to roll on our block and claim our territory.
Christian Hymns and Crusader songs are our drillrap.
Dabbing on those faggots, and rolling with our gangleader Jesus Christ.
Haha yeah bitch check my Gucci chainmail.

Of course, multi-volume histories are better, but for someone who’s just starting that would be overwhelming. In my opinion it’s better to master one simple textbook on any subject before going in-depth.
