The game is a lot of reading and typical adventure game fetch quest puzzle solving get this item to proceed to open this option kind of thing but it’s a bit better executed than that. But if you know how calls behave when, let's say, the SPX moves +15% in one month, you know that your out-of-the-money calls from 30 days ago are faster ITM than you can roll them out for longer expiration and higher strikes.
Let's say that you are rolling them out for higher strikes and longer expiration. You will earn more premium by doing so, however, YOU OWE that premium back as long as you are engaged in that trade.
So... is JEPI dishing out dividends they attained with funds they owe back?
That'd be even worse.
And if they don't, where are the funds for the dividend coming from when the market is moving up?
