If you don't exercise the option, then you lose all the premium you paid to buy it. What you'd do is exercise the option and then sell the shares. But that's annoying and it's often easier to just dump them before closing (if profitable) to arbitrage traders.

I figured out a way to keep a rolling sum, but unlike SMA, the weights are different so I also keep a set of rolling weights. It's very slightly inaccurate because of floating point math (I could use a double but this is fine for my purposes) and now it's lightning fast and comparable to other averages

You can also look at any chain and see where the walls are that big firms have placed a bunch of contracts.
WMT for example isn't going to hit 170 in 2 weeks (but the premium is going to be fairly low). But you could look at 45-60 dte as the sweet spot and just copy what others are doing and maintain appropriate risk for the premium.

Hire an in-home caregiver.
