The books of the banks are in safe and liquid instruments and not FTT.
Furthermore, the deposits of customers are typically protected up to a certain amount. Unless I have millions in cash at the bank I can get my deposit back even if there is a crisis.
The banks employ sophisticated risk-analysis to avoid situations like this. Crypto exchanges just YOLO-swag it up and hope for the best. They don't care as they aren't regulated.
