Fire wood before winter is very lucrative but you'll need alot of gear to get started. Saws, a truck, a log splitter. None of which are cheap if they're worth a shit. But 10+ hours of work is about $1800, which is just enough to spend in California and avoid the poor faggot tax these God forsaken commies have as a barrier to entry for physical precious metals purchases.
Plus it's really good exercise

Speaking of God forsaken commies

From the article
>If all corporate lenders applied ESG to their loan practices, all individuals and businesses would have to adopt leftist social ideologies and dubious environmental claims in order to have access to credit. ESG is a monetary incentive created by corporate elites to keep all other businesses in line. If it continues, ESG could wipe out political opposition to globalism in the span of a single generation

And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars

And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom

Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

I get it. If you've got a genius IQ and way too much time on your hands you'll be me one day. I asked, If I'm so smart why aren't I rich? Then I got rich.

you might understand this already. But once you get rich you see that doesn't matter either. But you will outgrow your anger if the world goes on long enough. I doubt it will, but it might. Get rich, get laid, get over petty shit like US economics and US politics and worry about what's actually going on. This is the singularity, we're so fucking close. What's being done? Not shit. We're almost extinct and nothing you or me says or does will delay that for an instant.

This was dropped last thread, can't recall just now, maybe the one before that. So Mexico is now on the list of countries nationalizing mining. Lithium recently. The more I want to DCA in just now I'm kinda torn on jurisdictional issues like this.
Pan Man as always is a cornucopia of knowledge and for that I am grateful, however political tides changing have nothing to do with knowledge base or experience. As surely as regime changes come with new drapes, politicians come with new minions and agendas.
This ESG thing is going to be the way they shoehorn communism into any and every culture, by forcing every company in every country and every sector.
So my question is where is the safest country to buy into miners going into 2023?

Mexico is not a good jurisdiction, they actually have rather high taxes and sometimes you have to share profits with workers too so they dont cause problems. Then you have all the blockades etc.

In the US we set aside a huge chunk of the budget for government purchases from small biz only. They also run the SBA which promotes small businesses and gives some really nice loans to small biz only. And they run the 8a program which has the sole aim of growing small businesses to large ones by funneling gov contracts to them until they're huge.
On a larger scale they also sometimes tear apart monopolies but that hasn't been happening much since the GOP loves monopolies and dislikes small business.
>>52382124

sure we can. Almost half of what my business charges goes directly to compliance and safety.

>> No.52399946

>>52383203
also since nobody here really knows how this works I'll share some experience. Generally as a contractor for a major miner, they're going to tell you what you need as far as compliance goes, and how to get it.

For example I might be doing some work for Newmont and they tell me I need MSHA certification for all workers, monthly drug testing, and verification of employment status for all employees and subs.

If I don't know how to do all that shit I meet with their compliance and safety guys and they tell me for example what labs to use for drug testing, and how to get MSHA training etc.
It's easy enough if you're not a retard, but most people are retards. Which is why businesses make the big bucks. Most people can't figure out how to navigate compliance, and lots of very smart people are scared to try. Business owners just do it. It's part of the job. If you got the balls to go out and get the work, you got the balls to do the compliance stuff too.

Aside from learning compliance as we go, and also building up a body of compliance over time, you're also right about monopolies.

but it's often small businesses that hold those monopolies, not large ones.

for example there are a couple types of HAZMAT work on industrial mining sites where I am the ONLY business in the world qualified to do the job. I am a small business, I have a couple compliance monopolies that have made me millions. Not huge monopolies, but every mining company in the US has hired me at some point, as have almost every government agency in the US. The work we do is weird enough that mining companies don't maintain the required certifications and insurance, it's cheaper to hire me. And that's what I'm here for. That's why I maintain those credentials.

The final fact is that about 80% of US tax, accounting, employment, and fair dealing regs simply don't apply to small businesses at all.

so yeah, huge companies might push regulation to cripple other huge competitors, but that goes right over the heads of small business. We don't play by almost any of those laws. We don't have to. By the time we're big enough to be hit with those regulations, we can afford whole floors of lawyers and accountants too.

>> No.52400752

>>52383203
all of that doesn't change the fact that taxes and regulations contribute to the death of about 2/3 of small businesses in the US every year.

but people that start businesses are mostly libertarians and we love to blame the government when we fuck up. The reality is if taxes and regulations killed your business, YOU SUCK AT RUNNING A BUSINESS.
There's no shame in that. Libertarians are also usually diy guys and we have to learn to hire people that can do the work we're not capable of doing. I suck at sales and I'm a mediocre manager so I hire other people to do that work. I love the work, I'm just not great at it. So I hire people that trained to do it or were born with the talent to do it.

and that's a huge part of dealing with government regulations. Hire someone that knows how to do it, or go bankrupt and bitch about the government instead of your own unwillingness to pass the work to someone better at it.
Most business owners fail on that point alone.

Bunker hill is a pretty good bet for an up and coming miner but every one of these projects are hyper risky.

Their bunker hill project has a lot going for it though that others might not, like having a massive existing archive of data on their ore body and the US federal government helping them sort out clean up for the past mine.

Their primarily focused on the zinc and lead with silver acting as a credit at smelters, so their hoping that those two commodities keep climbing in value, but if there is a major price crash they could be hooped.

Anyone remember molten battery stuff? I think I found a decent stock for it, last time we checked I think we were looking directly at gold miners like PPTA who had byproducts of antimony.. This is a much more riskier junior MOLT:CSE.

Also seems like theres a similar figure to Amir Adani of Uranium, but for Antimony: Donald Sadoway. He's on the board of MOLT and is the founder of Ambri company making these batteries.

I think use case of the batteries is good, but nothing mind blowing or a massive step up from lithium-ion batteries already + they have a bunch of risks and initial energy input with them needing to be molten all the time. Not too sure of this stock being a multi-bagger unless China stops exporting antimony or other REEs honestly.

I can but I use a simple formula. When mining companies are hiring me, they're bullish. When the feds are hiring me, mining is bearish. I watch my ratio of corporate contracts vs fed contracts and see about where mining's at right now.

but that says nothing about the future. Just tells me what's happening right now, right here. You know how it is. Mining booms and busts on metal prices and nobody knows exactly where those are headed. Locally at least moly and copper mines are going strong while silver, gold, lead and zinc still struggle. That could all change in an instant but I don't know if it will. Well, I KNOW it'll change, but I don't know when and I don't know which direction or for how long. It's a crap shoot. Always was, always will be.

the exploration sector is really odd right now too, it feels like its in a down turn again but in reality all the shit coin tier projects from two years ago have failed and now only the best that survived are getting work done. Drilling contractors are seeing openings in their schedule for the first time in two years, and already i am hearing grumbling from guys in the field about looking for new work. Its nowhere near a fullscale down turn though, not yet anyway.

I think it could go either way but long term prices are going to go up. They always do. Whether or not they'll go up enough I don't know. But you guys have some amazing ground out there so if prices go up you're all set to boom again.

We had a lot of local interest in silver and gold last year or two but it's all died down again with prices going low. Still have that heap leach project down the street from me moving forward but I think they've shrunk their plans a bit.

All the high ups i ve met were Yugo or Quebec lately, all the new blood in mining is coming from BC and Alberta. Were going to need them and so many more for the dozens of new underground projects this province has planned. KSM on its own is going to need 500-1000 staffers with underground training.

look for career / training programs through the major mining companies. Universities and trades schools often partner with major miners to do training programs, like the one i was working on. Its not easy work at all, the in class room material is dry and the physical training is extremely demanding. You will hurt, you will be beaten down into a clay like state. Not everyone can work underground. I honestly only recommend UG for people who are built a bit different then most. You need to be able to function in a high stress, low visibility environment with a large crew of people who will be assholes. Its difficult, it was horrible for me starting out young, but if you can do it you have a sweet career that will take you all over the globe. two guys who we taught are off to Tanzania to work on a gold project for example.
Also another angle to look at, try finding major mining contractors to work under. Its a bit of a bitch though to get your foot in the door though now with many elderly guys trying to keep their grand kids around instead of hiring outside the "family" if you know what i mean.

Not sure, our MSHA guy is this 80 year old former mine rescue guy. He has stories from mines all over the US. I think he worked on the Sunshine Mine disaster and a large number of smaller accidents and rescues. So our classes are always interesting.

the one time I had to do an online refresher it was dry and boring as hell. I think it depends on the instructor. I'm worried about when our guy retires, but he's retired and we begged him and bribed him to come back every year. Love that guy's classes.

Yeah at the time of the Sunshine fire Leadville was booming with maybe 40 underground operations running full swing. So our instructor guy headed up the Colorado Mine Rescue team and was based here in town because of all the work going on. The way he tells it MSHA hadn't been invented yet, and it was started partly because of the Sunshine Disaster. He says he worked with the feds writing up the safety regulations. Like he literally wrote the book for MSHA. Not sure how true that is because he loves to exaggerate and brag like we all do. But it's probably at least part of the truth, he was definitely there for that fire and wrote a couple papers about what went wrong and what could be improved.

Not trying to argue on this but filling in details for others if their interested.
Westray mine was the perfect storm of greed, both government and corporate were responsible.

Several government ministers (and possibly the Provincial premier) were in the pocket of the company Curragh Resources. Curragh Resources pumped huge amounts of money into provincial elections, bought out safety regulators and even third party monitors.
The government knew the idea of a coal mine at Westray was a bad idea (gas and poor ground stability was a well known problem) but that was ignored so corrupt officials could make money. The owners of the mine knew gas infiltration was going to be a major hazard but didnt do anything to properly mitigate it. The entire project was meant to only operate for a few months, drain some cash out of public coffers into private and officials pockets, then get shut down. Instead it went on and caused one of the greatest mine disasters in western history.

This is a bit of a problem for us smaller contractors. You can't actually get MSHA UG certification without doing what, 8 hours on a working face? So I partner with my clients to get my crew trained up on their property. I don't have an underground mine of my own to train people in, but I have to have access to one to get part 48 UG certifications.

sounds like your training program is exactly what we need in the US. We don't have training mines where I live and we need them if we're going to get more miners. Currently every mining company wants MSHA trained hands, but you can't get the training until you get hired.

Considering the upcoming EV craze that's increasingly being pushed as we near 2030, all of these metals are going to run hot.
I've been eyeing FPX Nickel.
They have some kind of a novel extraction method and seem to be in a pretty good position regarding battery metal production and this ESG stuff with their extremely low environmental footprint.
Worth checking out.

>>52439762
I agree, copper is going to do extremely well in the longer run but what we have going on at the moment is a big bear market rally which is pumping the prices.
Copper has long ways to fall from here and even the PMs might fall like a rock when the general markets take the next big leg down.
If we time this right we can rotate profits from PMs into other metals.
I'll get into copper myself but I'll wait for the next lower low and see how far there is to fall and what companies are even going to be standing after a while, especially if oil prices start going up.

Unless you're talking really cheap labor in a 3rd world country going in with handheld machines.
I agree it's good that they are doing something, but what now? their market cap is C$2M. They would have to issue 50% of their shares outstanding (with full warrants prob), just for a new tiny drill program. And probably 20%+ per year just to pay for overhead.

My favorite microcap is Canagold, they have a 1.1Moz high grade resource in BC and new mgmt that wants to push it forward aggresively. They are raising money right now for a FS so you might want to wait a bit to get in. They are doing a rights offering for existing shareholders, to buy shares at 17.5c (I'm exersizing my rights fully). So I would expect the stock to drop a bit between now and Dec 11. or whenever it's done.
I like this new mgmt, this way of raising money seems more fair as all shareholders can participate. Not something you see often though, I think it's a bit more popular in Australia. Normally companies just raise money at a discount and with free warrants too, and then on top pay 6% fee to the bankers.
They intend to drill all the way through to FS, which is expected to show around 100koz for 10 years.

Taku / Tulsequah / New Polaris also served as a major hub for about 9 other mines on the Taku River, it was the first major air strip north of Terrace BC for example. Its a very interesting piece of territory the more i look into it, but very little of it exists as documented material, most of it is hearsay from people who lived and worked at the mines.

This is the issue with small caps, which makes them a gamble. I have no comment on the results myself, because you never know what's down there until you have it out. Small caps can't always withstand the strain that mining blue chips can when precious metals are down relative to the costs of operating. Things like water, roads, diesel, are outside of their hands in the sense that any single issue that could suddenly arise is significantly harder to mitigate as a small cap junior explorer.
However, they could be a few dozen pokes away from a mother load.

Sure you can always get lucky, but I think one would be better off at the roulette table than in OPW.

Yes. Even then the road could wash out and that could take months or years to clear. Small caps can't handle strains like this. Everyone here knows my stance on most mining projects like this are a scam as mentioned here >>52458488
Once you've they done enough work to realize they are not going to get what they thought they keep the thing going any way they can to find some poor sap to sell that barren earth to and pass the bag along. It's commonplace, institutionalized even. So even if a company has the best intentions and not trying to fuck investors, small caps still have less resources to help carry the burden of issues that arise.
I just want anons to think about this when looking at mining operations. That's all
Scams exist. Accidents happen. Lots of that shit in mining in fact

what about when the price of gold/silver increases

doesnt this allow small caps to raise more money and save them from going under?
