No i did not. However how have you not noticed the progressive decline in the intelligence or mindset of crypto investors over time?

Since 2016 or so it has been shocking but especially since 2021.
This kind of thing would have cause a pump on any coin it happened to quite significantly pre-2021.

Normies do not take a look at the world around them. They don’t even know who Eric Schmidt is, if they do dare to invest in a crypto they throw 10 dollars at a random one hoping it makes them rich, and sell when it goes to 9. Normies only do what they are told, zero critical thought. Once the news mentions Chainlink they are free to pump my bags at $1,000 a Link

On the same note. Look at the Swift situation in relation to XRP holders.

Chainlink for over a year has had direct connection to Swift in a “working relationship”. This wasn’t enough apparently.
Now Swift in person announced a product with Chainlink being used, re-iterated their working relationship. XRP holders? Still snub it, critisise it as not real or only a XYZ, meanwhile their “proof” of a more substantial relationship is still random breadcrumbs and names, nothing changing in 5 years. They are convinced that “the lawsuit” is holding back SWIFT from shouting from the rooftops “XRP IS THE NEW USD”.

Utterly ridiculous.
I know why that is so: bagholder mentality, retardation and seethe about being wrong while also having a tribe mentally.

It really does feel like the either the lockdowns, the jabs, or both led to something like a 15-20 point drop in IQ across crypto. There's literally nothing that can be said to them, they're zombies. My best guess at this point is that people now prioritize being part of a community more so than buying critical Web 3 infrastructure. This is definitely true of most Chainlink shills on Twitter. People talk about parasocial relationships with podcasts and whatnot, maybe retail has fallen into parasocial relationships with their crypto communities.

The 2017 equivalent of Shiba/safemoon were something like Verge/Raiblocks.
Both were shit even back then but you can see at least a clear difference. In 2017 they were just shit projects trying to do something relevant. In 2021+ they were not trying. Just shit

It's not normoids you should be thinking about. They're not the ones who pump the price. They barely understand what crypto is, even though they buy it. It's the killer funds - Alameda, Jump, a16z, etc. They know what Chainlink is. So why don't they buy? Part of it could be distraction - there is so much going on and so much information to track, they cannot react to everything immediately. Part of it could be illiquidity, as everyone has taken a beating. Part of it could be ego; these funds don't buy late, they buy early, they control the price. Sure, they already have monster stacks rivaling the biggest bizwhales, but they're not trying to pump the token.
And it could be that the theories are right, that chainlink has been systematically shorted all this time. Covering those shorts takes a long time. The token pumps from the close, then gets dumped back down, repeat over and over again as accumulators give you liquidity until the short is gone. What is the open short interest on chainlink, has it gone down over time?

>It's the killer funds - Alameda, Jump, a16z, etc. They know what Chainlink is.
This is what I'm increasingly not so sure of. Eric Schmidt said it himself at SmartCon, basically the only people who understand Chainlink are the people at SmartCon and a handful of others. For years stinkers have thought of Chainlink in terms of "only we few on /biz/ and the financial elites know about Chainlink" but it may very well be the case that only a handful of the financial elite know about Chainlink. The market is just too clueless and despite what Sergey said a lot of this is not adding up.

I'm singling out XRP but this is a broader phenomenon. During the 2017 bull run there was a lot of accumulated knowledge and in the resulting bear market there was reflection on what was learned. Where is this going? What does the next generation of blockchain products look like? Which technologies are best situated to drive these innovations? can you specify which part of Cardano design is so well thought out? I don't follow it very closely, but to me it's just another platform with a lot of disadvantages (current scaling issues, horrible smart contract ecosystem). if I understand correctly you believe at some point those problems will be overcome and it'll start competing with EVM, but what qualities of Cardano platform do you think will make developers and users choose it? just so we're clear, I'm not saying it's impossible, I just feel like I'm missing something because nothing I've seen from Cardano seems to be solving any of the real issues of current platforms. by real issues I mean scalability (which rollups solve), privacy (which DECO solves) and user experience (which has no solution as of yet)

Also 2021 put it in league with XRP after everyone started making videos about how they're dumping tokens.
If I was Sergey I'd ditch the autism shirt, not present thise slides at all since every faggot who paid 700$ to attend has already had 5 years to watch him present them, and not talk about the Swift PoC because it's been 5 years so either working on a product or just working with swift, a poc is something you draft in a day for a school project, every shitcoin has a poc, the implementation is the tough part.

Hmm if that's really the whole plan then I have some bad news for you, SWIFT uses ISO 20022 and this standard is pretty much network-agnostic, they currently send messages via their centralized network, likely they'll switch to some decentralized solution (any DLT really, but why not Ripple) or at least use it as a redundancy, but no way in hell SWIFT is bypassed. Many people forget that while SWIFT provides some tools and technology, their first and foremost goal is creating a legal framework for banks to interoperate, in other words SWIFT is just a pile of contracts and regulations that connects all banks in the world, the technology is just an afterthought. So there is no chance in hell XRP or any other tech could "replace" SWIFT. SWIFT will cease to be relevant only after most value transfer happens in defi, which is still at least 15 years away.

I remember a time when every developer wanted to work for google and their open source software was of high quality and met every quality metric you could think of. That was the time before Eric came and made a "business" out of the cash cow, suffocating the culture of technical excellence and replacing it with the soulless fight for influence / money present in every other company. I wouldn't want him to come into my favorite project, because he'll ruin it as well.

All anybody here cares about is how can I buy tokens that will go up in value so I make money. Nobody cares about smart contracts maybe being able to integrate with or replace existing technology if it doesn't make them money

True, i agree but i’d do anything to avoid having to use tradfi and worry about ky account being locked because i didnt show them every mole on my body, forgot to tell them i moved address, decided to withdraw funds “suspiciously” or tax authorities want “more information”.

Tye day I can use Crypto gains and minimally interact with banks but easily be able to pay for shit will be a dream

As Eric Schmidt said, regulation is inevitable, KYC is inevitable and you won't get away with selling securities as "totally not securities" if you're making a lot of money. The problem with all of this web3 crap is the need to attach tokens/coins to everything so autists can gamble and back your company rather than just having a company that tries to solve a problem and has shares

They will use Chainlink CCIP. No more breadcrumbs, no guessing. They've announced it now. Chainlink is the successor of SWIFT (and much more than that in the future).

In the future kyc will be done automatically on chain and it will be much simpler to collect taxes. There is no escape from a tax audit where they track every single tx you made and you bought from a cex. Oh, we see that money ended up on tornado/monero? Ok you either give us the key or we consider you sold it and you owe us xxx on capital gains.

I caught the Delta variant of Covid and it really fucked me up for a couple of weeks. I got over it, obviously, but besides my sense of smell disappearing for 6 months (certain things like sweat, meat, farts still smell really odd, I think permanently) I'm fairly sure it also knocked my IQ down 5-10 points at a minimum. I find it much more difficult to read and understand pretty much anything now, I find it difficult to concentrate when someone is speaking about something technical, I am much more aware now that I have to really focus if I want to conceptualise an idea in my mind which before would have been quite simple.
