If you're living paycheck to paycheck, making that little, then you shouldn't be buying PMs. Simple as. You don't have any wealth to preserve. You should save your money in case of an emergency and invest the rest in yourself so you can earn more money (get certification for a higher paying career, etc.).

What's sick about it is that their intuition to save is perfectly healthy. But because we live in clown world, the instinct to save has been weaponized against poorer people. I'm one of those who are fortunate enough to blow 1k a month or more on metals. But I do think that you can still put a little away on silver if you don't have that kind of budget. Also I don't really know how you could make money in the markets without having several thousand to throw away because no one starts out making great investment decisions. Everyone fucks up. And if you're tight on capital, that can be difficult psychologically to recover from. I do think that having a cash position is necessary though for everyone. The paycheck to paycheck mentality is not unique to poor people. A lot of reckless idiots who make money don't have the mentality to save at all despite making gold money. Really is insane how many stupid people make a lot of money in this world despite not deserving to.

The Comex is getting drained at an unprecedented rate. This is a fact.
If it continues to get drained at the same rate as it is right now, it will be essentially empty by year's end, if not before. This is also a fact.
Silver is also being intentionally devalued, and, as such, is more affordable than it has been in years. This is yet again a fact.
Trivializing anons' legitimate concerns about the finite nature of silver by claiming "they're just happooners" makes you look like a shill who's trying to dissuade people from stacking until it's too late.
Not saying this is true, it's just what it looks like.

Poorfags putting their spare change into commodities is being cool-headed and responsible. Just look at last year's price for gold, an ounce was around £1300 compared to £1500 now. I was on the fence for at least a year about putting my fiat savings into commodities and missed out on the cheapies then. Everything is going to get worse from here on out and I don't expect things to get better until 2030 when the UK has its nuclear power plants up and running for competitive production. I am 90% expecting a depression here and a slim chance that commodities will be in some form exchanged at the local level for the next few years.

if you think the dollar milkshake theory makes sense (and it does), go read about it and also study about the eurodollar markets.
one final thing I'd say (I've got to go now) is to learn about the Eurodollar market. we're getting deflation, which is causing the price of commodities to tank and the dollar to go bull like it is.
you're not pushed for time at all.
don't cry about that £200 you're down on, you've already made it back if you were working. just saying there are going to be plenty of opportunities. don't get brow-beaten into buying early by these spacks.
yes things may get bad but it won't necessarily result in PMs going to moon.
if you had been in this general for a while, you would know these cunts have been predicting it to go to the moon since like last year when silver went to $30. when it retraced from there, these morons had no explanation at all.

deflating dollar will absolutely crush commodity prices, be warned. these fuckers are stuck in the inflation narrative. there is no inflation. the deflation happening can be seen in the fucking DXY. go learn about the eurodollar and you'll see.

Just finished watching interview with Willem Middelkoop here: https://youtu.be/TMhJecmH9bQ
Never heard of him before. He says his strategy for his own personal portfolio is 25% physical metals, 25% real estate, 25% cash and BTC, and 25% equities mostly in commodities and mining stocks and the like. Incidentally I'm pretty close to that but not really consciously. So yeah I'm estimating. Probably I have too much cash still but that's because I'm on the sidelines waiting to go into BTC and equities after more downside.

Except they haven't. Their inherent value is exactly the same as it's always been. All that's changed is that the market has been intentionally flooded with billions more fiat bills, making every bill that already existed even more worthless than it already was. Thus, it takes more fiat bills to buy the same shit which could previously be had for fewer bills.
The products' values have not increased. The amount of fiat paper needed to purchase them has.

This is not as sage as you think. This is pretty sketchy. Most college degrees are dogshit. You have to be very strategic. But yes investing in yourself is the right idea. I just think college is a fucking black hole for many who don't know exactly what they're doing by doing a lot of initial research and due diligence. You also have to be realistic about how smart you are. People of average intelligence need to stay the fuck away from college, period, and go into the trades instead.

>fake stackers shitting on PMs in /pmg/ flooding the general with their shitty fud
Yep frens, i think the default is closer than we think.

A relatively recent trend i noticed on the comex is eligible is now bleeding between 1 and 2Moz every day.
Registered drainings truly accelerated since March, but eligible wasn't moving much. But ever since registered plunged below 55Moz, eligible quietly started to slow bleed half a million ounce each day.
And now we are few days away from the 3XMoz range left, it's in full panic mode.
No need to be Columbo to understand what's going on : whales with stuff in eligible are afraid of their stack being forced into registered, without their consent, once the vaults are empty to meet the deliveries demand. All this to keep the illusion that everything is fine for a little longer.
So they preemptively are moving their stuff elsewhere, far from JPMorgan and CME's rubbing hands.

The comex defaulting is no longer a fantasy, it's a certainty. And it will most likely happen before mid-2023.

The real question is what happens when COMEX cash settles. They won't default outright, at least not at first.
What if PSLV just trades at a premium for those taking delivery and COMEX keeps on ticking as a paper-only market?

There isn't going to be a cut off and then to the moon. If silver becomes expensive old mines will reopen. Fellow /setf/ugee, my charts are all pointing to March 2023. Treasury and Eurodollar yield curve inversions at 5-6 months, rollout of Fednow scheduled, my own simple macro wedge technical analysis across various assets, comex emptying assuming current rate according to OP + slight acceleration from seeing the number dwindle. Inflation numbers will whiplash due to base effects + economic slowdown and the Fed will shift from price stability mandate 1 to employment mandate as the public begs for the pain to end. Then cash (USD) peaks before the CBDC and real assets moon in the newly legal digital money to solve banking solvency problems. No more SPR dumping, no more student loan freeze, no more rent moratorium. It all runs out during the dark winter, as the poor harvest reveals itself. We're on the WTC and the charges are being set.

I imagine those accepting pms will have means or knowledge to test. But there's more scenarios than nothing and mad max. The most likely is another revaluation of monetary assets to recapitalize the banking system after trust erosion destroys the swap and repo market, and subsequently the bond market, which makes up 90%+ of banks' reserves. Current currency is simply a claim on central bank assets, which is compromised of bonds (payments of future currency), foreign currency, and gold. The first two have a recursive definition which ends on a base case of gold. But how much gold is there really and where does it need to be revalued to back the gap in central bank claims or the new CBDC? Silver will be carried by the gravity of the move as the moon to the golden sun.

No I'm not, I've posted my stack in this thread and a regular here, I'm just being realistic. If silver becomes too expensive then industry will use alternatives. There are people who use the conductivity argument as if silver is the only thing that can conduct electricity. I've worked with electrics, I don't know any case where I seen something explicitly use silver. The only case I've heard about is solar panels, but if they start getting costly then market forces will push buyers to alternatives. As someone who had a little stack of silver, yeah go for it, but the to the moon gamble isn't going to pay off what some hopefuls are waiting for.

Fractional Distance: The Topology of the Real Number Line with Applications to the Riemann Hypothesis
>https://vixra.org/abs/2111.0072
Recent analysis has uncovered a broad swath of rarely considered real numbers called real numbers in the neighborhood of infinity. Here we extend the catalog of the rudimentary analytical properties of all real numbers by defining a set of fractional distance functions on the real number line and studying their behavior. The main results of are (1) to prove with modest axioms that some real numbers are greater than any natural number, (2) to develop a technique for taking a limit at infinity via the ordinary Cauchy definition reliant on the classical epsilon-delta formalism, and (3) to demonstrate an infinite number of non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function in the neighborhood of infinity. We define numbers in the neighborhood of infinity as Cartesian products of Cauchy equivalence classes of rationals. We axiomatize the arithmetic of such numbers, prove all the operations are well-defined, and then make comparisons to the similar axioms of a complete ordered field. After developing the many underlying foundations, we present a basis for a topology.

It's not that silver and gold is their Achilles heel, it's that you're cashing out of their debt slavery system with silver and gold being the go to monetary exchange mechanism. We now have the technology to make transfers of precious metals efficient and convenient. Imagine everyone having those precious metal hand devices and small retail chains having vending machines with the same technology in them. Who in the fuck needs a central bank when it can be fully decentralized. That is what the parasites are afraid of, the removal of the middle man.

It was because people were talking about this book which is PHENOMENAL by the way. The shills were dismissing it as "greenbacker propaganda" which is total bullshit. The point it makes is that private banking will always spell calamity for a nation. Talks highly about Hitler, JFK, and Gaddafi. Also shits on the US for getting itself into WW2. Yes, it's not perfect and does feel a little "fanatical". It would have been good if the book went more into precious metals. But the anti-banking message is incredibly redpilling, more than any /pol/ thread you'll find and the points it makes are very solid. It's absolutely worth reading. And as a bonus, it's finally short and easy to read for once. I get sick of seeing book recommendations that are 600-800 pages long, condense your damn points if you can or at least spread into multiple volumes.

Agreed. It just seems like in this scenario, PSLV will become the new industrial market and hedging mechanism for North America while SLV continues to exist, albeit trading at a discount.
That scenario would be a wild ride to be sure, but wresting pricing control from the LBMA and COMEX to something like the Shanghai Metals Exchange would be far more akin to the re-pricing scenario we're after.
SGE is a physical market, albeit a domestic-only one, but it's still controlled by North American markets. I hope this makes sense.

So apparently Engelhard bars have huge collectible value? My local coinshop which has competitive pricing was selling a five ounce Engelhard for four hundred dollars? Yes, and those who collect them discern their value based on style and serial numbers too, and the company is now BASF, and I haven't seen they make bars anymore.
Johnson Matthey was the next runner-up for overvalued generic bars. They eventually got bought by Asahi.

I think frogbro with the pyramid of semeuses bought a lot of them in bulk lots from boomers on eBay for under spot price. I have a few and they're pretty coins which definitely feel like silver to me. Alloys of .800 purity and less don't feel as "silvery" to me and have a more dull and blue luster, alloys .826 and higher are all nice in my opinion, and I honestly prefer the warm luster of sterling over pure silver.

>Only thing is that the owner wants $44 each but I try to buy as close to bullion value as possible so I regard ano 1oz rounds over about $35 Australian as wasting money.

Sounds like you have your head on straight, one should never FOMO into overpriced bullion and numismatics, there are always good deals floating around so waiting and watching patiently for PMs priced under market value is all I do. If you're near any of the gold districts maybe you can try metal detecting for nuggies too, the richness of the Australian gold fields and gargantuan size of the best of your nuggets are legendary. The dude took down the video but there was an amateur prospector who was an engineer as his day job that detected for gold as a hobby and kept everything he found over a decade which he covered his kitchen table with for the video. Literally over 20 kilos of gold he found part-time, that's simply impossible anywhere but Australia. Wearing a mosquito net and braving the clouds of bloodsucking insectoid jews is but a small inconvenience when kilos of gold are waiting.

With the way things are going right now, am I crazy to think that premiums on 1oz. coins and rounds will hit 50% soon? I can see a scenario where that could happen before the EOY.

Did you mean the 100 years in which the USD lost 98% of its value? THOSE 100 hundred years? How about the 3000 years during which gold and silver have ALWAYS been valuable. Shall we talk about THOSE years? Because stackers tend to have a long view of monetary history.

Gold will really shine once the bond market breaks. So long as the bond market remains liquid and payments are being made, it props up the leverage in every other asset class and the financialized economy just hums along. The problem is the bonds all can't be repaid without diluting the cash, and it is staved off with exponential increases in borrowing and spending. This is not a sustainable system and cracks are forming everywhere. The market is literally jettisoning their bond holdings, and the illiquidity is sending yields skyrocketing. We went from 2.80% to 3.98% within the span of a SINGLE MONTH. The Fed literally has to step in to buy these bonds because no one wants to hold a toxic asset that pays cash at a rate significantly lower than inflation.
This whole system is teetering on the edge, and the powerful force of exponents will ensure its demise. The financial markets are all buy held together with band aids and duct tape, and if you aren't paying attention, you will miss the fact that many large players are using this time to exit their positions while the ponzi scheme is still afloat. The leveraged ponzi is a wealth extraction mechanism and it was never meant to be sustainable. We put real resources, work, labor, into the system, and Wallstreet sells us toxic paper IOUs. Our good money chasing bad money. Debts so massive that not even the collective economic might of the entire world can pay them back. You may as well pass a law saying the U.S. military needs to bring the moon down to earth. It's physically impossible.
That is the last Jenga-piece holding it all up. The bond market. The only thing preventing it from cracking will be rampant inflation. Gold, in 1920s was revalued dramatically overnight. You will never see it coming, as the only way the banking system can recapitalize themselves is their gold holdings being revalued to dwarf their liabilities. It will be an elevator ride whose doors slam shut instantly.

Does that mean that it proves that it is simply a store of value? And not truly an investment for growth? And any growth that it might see is simply going to cover any costs when it comes to selling in regards to being taxed?

The core function and utility of gold is its role as a relatively stable monetary asset that preserves value without exposure to counterparty risk, but several well documented examples in history demonstrate its growth potential during monetary cataclysms. $850/ozt in 1980 was an enormous amount of purchasing power but the window to swap into undervalued assets was narrow and if you held 20 years it was only $250/oz. In Weimar Germany one could buy gobs of real estate, equipment and durable goods if you had gold during the peak of the panic, and the same was true in the early 1990s when former Soviet states were in social, monetary and economic upheaval. Stories of people in the former Yugoslavia with a little gold or a US $100 bill paying off their entire mortgage are still fresh in the memory of people there. Many here anticipate an impending global fiat currency crisis that may dwarf those historical incidents and stack PMs in order to at least preserve wealth if not multiply it when the global financial system implodes and the world flees hyperinflating fiat and FOMOs into hard money.

It ultimately depends on the actions of the banking system. Saving the dollar means a deflationary depression and complete collapse of everything including imports, jobs, taxes, welfare, insurance etc. This is a terrifying prospect. I think the banks will ultimately try to slow-roll inflation to keep things going and hopefully ease us into the pain. I think the chance of banks freezing up and shutting down temporarily is a given. I think we'll all get our cash but the purchasing power of it is likely to be nil. The system is effectively dead, and the dollar ultimately needs to be replaced. I think all countries want the dollar replaced as well and are actively looking for work-arounds to dollar hegemony. This is on no certain timeline, as well. It could carry on like this for years if we have cooperation of foreign nations. But it could also collapse quite suddenly if someone big runs for the door. I am extremely pessimistic, and I don't use the terms "ponzi scheme" lightly. All of the problems characterized by current events are summed up succinctly as thus: Shortfall of capital. We have replaced real capita. & savings with leverage and liquidity. The only play is to buy up real assets, real businesses and own plenty of guns and food while we wait for the inevitable. Sounds spooky, and it is. Most normies will have their necks snapped from the whiplash caused by their normalcy bias. Simply buying a house and earning a small fortune is impossible without leverage. Simply owning stocks that procure you a living wage doing nothing is impossible without an insane influx of cheap labor and resources. Without savings, and so little reinvestment in our manufacturing and infrastructure, we are all collectively going to be tightening our belts. No magic central bank dollar tricks will be bailing us out this time.

Nice try, private banking is shit because the nation has to work for the interest of the banks, while state banks have to work for the interest of the country. The Federel reserve system is a big collage of private banks and the British empire is utterly strangled by the private Rothschild bank. Shill be gone!
