Half of all dollars in existence were printed in the past 3 years. The dollar had been tanking for 12+ months.
Finally these past 8 months, the fed has tightened the net a bit to try and recoup some of that liquidity floating around, and they've been mildly successful. DXY recouped post 2020 losses and is at a high now.

...but if you don't think that our government is gonna take another stimulatory shit all over the USD within the next 12 months simply because they can, you're crazy.
Even if they do nothing, short term treasuries are now 4%+. We have a government debt exceeding 100% GDP. That means 4% of GDP is going purely to paying back our own past debts now, unless we maintain a 4%+ inflation rate in perpetuity.

Even today, the dollar buys less real items/services in the US than it did at this time last year. The only way you're actually benefitting from our temporary USD strength during this EU collapse is if you pack up today and move there. Even then, hope you enjoy the freezing winter with no heat.

It's a false dilemma.
Inflation is doomed to death spiral whether they raise rates or not, due to the massive debt load. The only way we could solve inflation would be through a decade of austerity. Higher taxes, less federal workers, less handouts. People who think some magic money interest rate number can solve inflation are delusional. So you know how everyone always gets their panties in a bunch when the USA CPI numbers come out? They’re high but M/M it *has* been slowing down. Let’s say 8ish% over the past year.

It’s way worse in Europe, we’re talking low double digits. So BOE and ECB have an even narrower path to follow if they want to preserve the purchasing power of their currencies. Investors are seeing this and losing their minds. Also I think Liz Truss’ cabinet will be more hawkish than initially expected.

Exactly. And you might get a very wrong idea if you read the CPI releases that show table after table, row after row, item after item of different categories. Airline tickets and irons and butter at the store are irrelevant. Secondary.

You need labor, energy, and intelligence. Those three elements are what determines output, productivity, the ability to say "our German Euros are not Zimbabwean Dollars". If you lack any of those, your economy is dead. The individual CPI rows blinking out one by one is a mere formality.

Central bankers buried in spreadsheets don't get that.

People were mad about refugees invading and replacing them so the parties capitalized on it and said hey we'll leave the EU and it will totally stop. It didn't and now they're even worse off economically too lmao.

The UK was one of the few nations that had their own currency control too so they had very little reason to be mad at the EU. Just terrible leadership, and somehow that party is STILL IN POWER! Britain is stupid as fuck.

The issue is that the Fed can't necessarily solve monetary problems created by congress. If congress doesn't put in effort to balance a budget, they're dumping a lot of money into the economy.
The rate hikes are successfully stopping the inflationary spiral.. right now. They've killed liquidity, but it's leading to recession. If people produce less and spend less, has anything really been fixed?
Eventually they'll have to cut hikes to re-stimulate the economy back to growth, which will just lead to continuation of the inflation unless they solve the core supply issues. Considering we've had an SPR dump these past 10 months and there's really no chance of further oil supply growth globally, it's hard to see that happening.

Of course, another factor that supports currencies is confidence. Confidence is important because no one wants to knowingly lose money. You see countries like Argentina with their pesos on an infinity spiral right now, it's because the citizens have lost confidence. They don't keep anything significant in the bank because they know it'll disappear. Meanwhile, here in the US everyone is content to just watch their money shrink by 2% each year. Plenty of boomers keep 50k in low yield savings in accounts, just for emergencies. They're bagholders, but they'll never realize it. If they had some sudden mass realization, US dollar would lose all its value overnight. Japan has some of the strongest bank account savers, which is part of why their inflation trends so low.

I would like to strongly condemn WeBull as a brokerage. It’s UI is abhorrent and built to turn ‘investing’ into a social media fueled gambling addiction. Imagine Robinhood but with even fewer braincells. Regardless of this, they have a nice bonus to pick up right now. Signing up takes about 20 minutes max and the whole process is maybe 40 minutes.
Phase 1: Sign up
The first phase is opening the account. It’s a quick process that only requires you to remember your social security number and take a picture of your driver’s license.

Phase 1: Bonus (2 fractional shares)
The sign-up bonus is paid out in fractional shares of stock which I recommend you sell immediately. Claim your bonus as soon as your account is approved, and the fractional shares will be in your account in about five days. With the bonus amount the odds are stacked against you. The following table shows you your odds on the amount an individual fractional share is worth. The probability was taken from their terms and conditions, and I converted it to percent change because people understand that better. (Table 1 Pic related)

Statistically you’re going to end up with between $6 and $20 from this first part. I ended with $8. If it was just this, it wouldn’t be worth my time. So, we begin Phase 2.

Phase 2: Deposit
For making a deposit you will be awarded between 4 and 10 fractional shares. I deposited literally $1 to meet the requirement and it worked just fine. The deposit takes about 5 days to clear after which you can claim your reward. It will take another 5 days for the fractional shares to reach you. When they do, sell.

Phase 2: Bonus (4 – 8 fractional shares)
I couldn’t for the life of me find how they determine if you get 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 shares. Based on the share statistics, assume you’ll get 4 and be happy if you get more. The fractional shares here are worth more, which is a plus. The range on the shares is extremely large which annoys me to be honest. (Table 2 pic related)

Yeah, that's the point. People who've experienced extreme inflation eventually lose trust. Argentina bonds yield like 75% but it doesn't even matter because they inflate by more than 75%. Yet that 75% rate locks them into the spiral, since they're spending so much nominally to repay their own debt. It's a trap. You can see the same pattern forming in Brazil, in Turkey, in Pakistan, and many others.

The only way Argentina can ever have their own functional currency again is if they temporarily tie it to gold or something. Even then, how could they ever unpeg? Their name is tarnished. The brand is ruined. They're just doomed forever.
We'll have to wait and see whether the same happens to the EU this next decade.

Phase 3: Crypto
If you complete a single transaction with any cryptocurrency in WeBull they’ll credit you $5 in a cryptocurrency of your choice. Use the $1 you deposited to buy Ethereum, wait 5 seconds, and then sell it. It took a day to appear for me but then I was able to claim $5 in cryptocurrency.
Phase 4: Don’t
You can get $100 for transferring an account of at least $2000 and an additional $75 if it’s an IRA (the IRA must be at least $5000). However, I wouldn’t recommend anyone ever use WeBull as an actual brokerage so I would skip this.
Phase 5a: Referral Links
Because they want to turn your friends into gambling addicts WeBull offers great referral bonuses. All your friend needs to do is open an account and deposit any amount ($1) into their account. They can also claim all of the bonuses listed above on their own.
Phase 5: 12 fractional shares
The odds are the same as Phase 1, but you are guaranteed to get the 12 fractional shares.

Phase 5b Referral Links
If you successfully refer three people, you get to spin the wheel of evil to win at least 1 share of apple. You get to spin the wheel again when you hit seven successful referrals. I am embedding the pics below because they are pretty self-explanatory.
TL;DR: How much how fast?
Open a new account with Webull, deposit $1, and then buy bitcoin with that 1 dollar for at least $40.

After that shill your referral link to your friends and offer to split the bonuses with them.

Crypto has zero real value. It's all branding, hype and perception.
So it's hard to say what crypto will do tomorrow, but all things equal it tends to follow other shit that's priced in dollars, like stocks - especially profitless tech stocks since it's the same investor base, people who are more interested in perception than fundamentals.

With stock futures down 0.5% and looking to continue the selloff, a reasonable guess is that crypto will also continue to sell off.

GBP is collapsing to all-time lows, which is having ripple affects on all other FOREX markets, which in turn is having an effect on futures. Companies need to liquidate positions or hedge to cover these drops, so tomorrow will likely be very choppy and likely red. Maybe not circuit-breaker red, but 5% wouldn't be unreasonable.
