There's a select group of validator nodes that control the whole network. That's not only a huge security & centralization issue, but also a network valuation & "demand" issue. The network could be the most widely adopted network in the world and it would still technically have absolutely no value whatsoever from an investment standpoint...because there are no fees, nor incentives to secure/validate transactions (profits). Normally, in the practical world, the busier a business or network gets, the more it profits. In this case, no matter how busy the network gets, it still profits....nothing. Meaning it has no valuation. Literally worthless. And again, no one can openly participate in validating transactions, or network governance for that matter obviously...big issue! This is just cracking the surface too. Forget the lawsuit. Ignore the SEC. That's just been a huge distraction. Instead of Ripple being dragged through the mud for it's terrible tech and lack of transparency and the obvious pitfalls around its network and token design, and instead of XRP being exposed for actually being a digital currency, NOT a cryptocurrency, the SEC has pedestalled them into being white-knighted by half of the crypto community as its rebellious, vigilante savior that everyone is rooting for....pathetic.
