My hunch is still that the endgame is Fedcoin. The Fed is aware that they have really just been fueling inequality and that a large part of that is the dramatic difference in monetary vs fiscal policy.
Stimulus checks and the (fraud known as) PPP loans required weeks to months for congress to get approved. The Fed created the corporate debt lending facility almost overnight.
Fedcoin would be a way for the Fed to have a lever to deploy "stimulus" to everyone at the same time without exacerbating the Cantillion Effect.
But this isn't yet in the Fed's mandate, that change will have to come from Congress. And congress will do it only if enough people are feeling pain.
Fedcoin will not only be prohibited from buying assets (stocks, gold, real estate, etc.) and shitty assets (crypto) but it will also be on a timer to prevent saving it.
