The trick to this is very simple, granted I would have never tried it. Learned it from an old friend.

Basically you use a shit load of bleach. Let the cycle start up with hot water. Then just stop the washer. Just let it sit for like an hour or so. Maybe 30m to 2 hours just let it fucking soak. Then wash as normal. You're going to see soo much dirt get lifted out of your clothes. Might want to run the rinse cycle a few times to get all of the bleach out.

I used to do this a bunch but haven't lately cuz I just don't care anymore but my friend would do it all the time with his white McDonald's Manager shirts.
