Alright sonny, listen up because I'm only saying this once. If you check the monthly chart for QQQ or futures /NQ it's testing the 50 moving average which most likely will act as support for a bounce or at the very least stop the bleeding. You should be selling puts or put spreads, not buying them.
A good compromise between ATM and too OTM is having the short leg at -.30 delta. Too far down you get less reward but higher probability, too close you get a higher reward but a 50/50 shot. The choice is up to you how aggressive to be.

Look at the bond market: this is the financial apocalypse. All of the big institutions got out of the market over the last year and are now short. >Costco – arguably the most popular retailer in the United States and verifiably the world’s third-largest retail chain – is continuing its aggressive push into Europe with plans for a fifth store in in Spain. This all comes after Costco announced a plan in 2013 to expand its operations by opening 150 warehouse clubs globally, with a specific focus on previously untapped international markets.
>A concrete indication of the retailer’s ambitions comes in the form of a huge new Costco fulfillment center – its first logistics center in Europe – in Torija, Spain, 75 kilometers northeast of Madrid. The project is designed to be 140,000 meters squared, or 1.5 million square feet, according to media reports. That’s about 35 acres for our American expats and the footprint of the typical Costco fulfillment centers in the U.S.
Recession-proof retailer. Euros will be blessed with our quality bulk food and chicken bakes.

I know, but PBR is grossly undervalued (I think almost exclusively due to political risk which is exaggerated) and grossly outperforming everythng. I wanted it to be less affected due to simultaneous revaluing. Not so apparently. Compare with xom which is only down ~5%. Now I get that xom is also propped up by ETF faggotry but still.
I'll just coast with my ridiculous dividends in the meantime I guess.

>>51613202
They're "inflation-adjusted", so if "inflation" go to 10% (real) you get 5% returns (because the CPI says it's only 5% good goy). You should buy them if you can't into the market (like me :DDDD) and think inflation will soar for the next X years (there's a minimum hold duration if I recall correctly), but you will always underperform inflation.

Hello, in this post, I will convince you that the market has reached, or is extremely close to reaching, the bottom.
https://youtu.be/dpbE4oCksug
Brent from spotgamma explains it very well
>0:49
>this is the equity data for all customers retail and hedge funds
>and as you can see yes it’s record buying to open premium
>however, I want to draw your attention to the sell to open premium
>which is actually just as large as the buy to open premium
>and it is also at a record level, actually surpassing the size that was sold back in 2021
>so this offsets - if you look at buying to close, there was not a lot of buying to close this past week
>if you look at selling to close was also rather small (in the equity space)
>so if you net all this flow out, if you take the buying to open, buying to close, selling to open, selling to close
>you net those out, you get this chart in the bottom left which shows us that not too much is going on
>now let’s just look directly at the retail side, this is for 1 to 10 lot transactions
>as you can see the data is totally different
>so that big activity was really driven by hedge fund flow and we don’t know specifically what they’re doing
>we just know if it was in equities, indices, or ETFs
>ETF flow, QQQ / SPY

Why does someone sell puts? Either they think the market will rise, and the puts will decrease in value OR they want the puts to be exercised, and they want to reduce their cost basis in buying shares.
Overextended Put/Call ratios, bonds, dollar, oil
‘Sell Rosh Hashanah, buy Yom Kippur’
Do not be afraid to buy when the time comes.
Look around you - everyone is now bearish. We are getting tourists from other boards coming in to ask us what is going on in the market. Do not be left behind.

David SOXL is a disgrace. He's got these semiconductors, they're more like miniconductors because they're so small you can barely even see them. Very very small, there's nothing "semi" about them. It's a lie, an absolute lie. Here's the facts, David SOXL is one of the great inventors of our time. And the Semiconductor is the brain of American ingenuity, progress and American peace. Of course, it's why I don't see a scenario where the current prices make sense. For example, if the strategic reserves had been replenished, it would point to a massive unexplained surplus, which could itself point to something fucky I didn't account for, which could explain why the implied forward-looking prospects (from price action) is reduced demand vs supply. But as seen here and following the EU situation, there's no way this is happening right now, so the price is clearly truly overcorrected, not "I'm not having it my way so it's overcorrecting"-overcorrected.

I've started watching a lecture on corporate finance, gonna post my takeaways. Just finished lecture 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8QYr-Z5qfY).). The prof has the nickname of "dean of valuation" I guess because he talks about valuation a lot. He's also a pajeet so he must be intimately familiar with tigers and how we can avoid them in these times of quiet forests.

Takeaways:
>"cost to capital" must be lower than "return on existing assets" for a company. Only 45% of companies worldwide meet this requirement. Companies that don't meet this requirement are actively destroying value and must start paying dividends and winding down.
>conversely, companies that do meet this requirement should not pay dividends.
>r&d investment is bad if you cant justify it financially (how much it costs vs how much you expect it to bring in). "Strategic" is a red flag, if an investment is defended as "strategic" its because it cant be justified financially.
>debt is bad because it is a mandatory dividend. Many CEOs take on debt because they want to retain control and so hate issuing equity. This is dangerous, it makes the company vulnerable to bankruptcy because it now has a mandatory obligation
>if you do take debt it should match the type of investment the company is doing. For example, long-term domestic investments should be financed by long-term debt in the domestic currency, even if short-term debt in USD is cheaper

Bonus takeaways from an interview:
>implied equity risk premium is the one marker that the prof tracks on a daily basis during a crisis. It tells us how much return the market expects for taking on risk. It's a gauge on how terrified people are
>he thinks that 95% of what people do is pricing, not valuation.
>pricing is when you look at the prices of existing companies in the space, take their average P/E, and use that to decide a price target. Analysts are usually doing pricing, they follow the market
>valuation is looking at cashflows, growth and risk. Fancy example is a discounted cash flow model.
>valuation requires some faith that eventually the price will converge to the true value of the business. Faith is a keyword here, "the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent" is a real thing and thats where faith comes in
>in that sense retail investors have an advantage in that when you are investing your own money, you dont have to justify your decisions to customers - you can stay solvent for longer
>valuation is a waste of time with the biggest companies because you will just come to the conclusion that they are fairly priced. It is better to spend time valuing snapchat than facebook.
The fact that he uses snapchat as an example for a good target to evaluate tells me that he thinks there is still a lot of room to make money using fundamental analysis

for stocks to be attractive, the fed needs to lower interest rates and turn on the money printer (but we probably don't want that since it would cause more inflation)

Mexico and Canada are in good position to get a boost from US I think. In the latest Fed podcast their focus was on how to make work on production lines more attractive to young people. Clearly they want production to come back to USA, which sounds great, but in the meantime they will probably outsource from neightbours during transition away from China.

This one is pretty schizo theory though, as it's based just on few things:
- Fed meetings
- recent talks about xetting up metals mining coalition in western world
- securing domestic REE
- BRICS moving away from USD when trading their resoures, which puts them in quite hostile position to the western world.
- recent tensions between USA and China

I still need to think this shit through.

Sometimes people are so blinded by the short term happenings that they overlook the long term. Pull up the S&P chart and max view it. 1998 it was under 800. Peak of 2000 it was just under 1500. What's it at now? Uh over 3600. Back in 1998 or 2000 did anyone even contemplate 3600, fuck no. Point is shat goes only one way; up over the long term. And if it should ever dump down to sub 1000 ever again you better buy the fuck outta it.. Today's dump is a buying window. Ten years from now today's dump will look like 1998 or 2000. People then will be wishing they bagged like crazy during this time.
