When someone exchanges Lunc for USTC it won’t be 1.2% that is burned, it will be the entirety of the Lunc. It’s a one sided swap so it will burn the Lunc supply at a far more exponential pace than the on chain burn, or even an off chain burn if it were to happen. So imagine you swap 10M Lunc for its USTC equivalent, the swap will burn all 10M Lunc instead of just 120k and leaving millions still circulating.

In the case of USTC they created lunc which is the underlying currency for USTC. When lunc value changes, you will get more or less lunc if you swap ustc for lunc. If lunc was 0.01 then swapping USTC would get you 100 lunc. If lunc was .10 then swapping USTC would get you 10 lunc. Some people may want USTC because they want to park their wealth on something stable so as not to lose its peg to the dollar, where as other like us are gambling on the fact that lunc will eventually go up in value. So it depends on if you want stability or you want to gamble on making money.
