Yup. We're still a long way off from real Zimbabwe style hyperinflation, (technically is has to be like 50% per month or something) but it is going to become a bigger and bigger problem. Rasing rates, while still keeping them below the rate of inflation won't slow inflation down, but it will wreck the bubble economy.
Sooner or later we will have a massive deflationary event. The entire monetary system is a bubble, and no bubble lasts forever. Central banks know this. That's why there's been so much talk about CBDCs over the past few years. The Fed says they will roll out FedNow next year. They already have a plan to replace our broken currency. Only, I'm pretty sure the new system will be even worse.

I really don't know, because its never happened before. It was narrowly avoided at the end of 2019 / beginning of 2020 with the massive currency supply increase that they "had to do because of covid." Eventually the will let it implode so they can force everyone to use CBDCs. When it happens, credit will probably freeze up. Credit and debit cards won't work, ATMs will be emptied. Pandemonium in the streets, most likely. Then they can step in to "fix" the problem they created because people will be begging for it.
