Back in the 1968/69 when inflation creeped in you could see unemployment going slightly up before it exploded in 1972 - we haven't seen this so far nor are there any signs that it will happen because 1) reduced workforce - there was a shortage of people after things went back to normal [which is exactly the reason why inflation popped off; same amount of goods produced with demand firing off] 2) companies still going to post stellar revenues and somewhat good operating margins which comfortably allows them to keep, at the very least, the current workforce.

It's also likely within 3 to 6 months we will see core CPI going back to normal levels with JPM suggesting they have peaked already as current prices are not being bid anymore (rent) while other segments most likely reverting due to commodities deflating back to previous values (used cars).

I'm not saying it's not possible but none of the hard data is showing this. I know Europe is beyond fucked (germany industry output is definitely going to contract severely in the next months) but I don't see anything in the US suggesting this - most likely just minor growth due to inflation eating up a bit of margins.
