My dreams lately are all about regrets of things I didn't do in life.

Had the absolute most bizarre dream last night and it seemed to last hours
>aliens arrive on earth
>exchange technology and bring about a whole new level of utopia for all of the world by allowing us to use renewable energy, cure diseases, and eliminating poverty.
>all of humanity is united and practically worships these aliens as the new rulers even though existing governments are still in place
>comes at a price though
>the aliens demand a level of behavior they deem "civilized"
>literally CCCP level of watching and monitoring peoples behaviors
>humans who are compliant are rewarded, those who are not are punished
>neighbors rat people out for not being pleasant enough during conversations
>you can get your neighbor in trouble by reporting them for not smiling enough
>everyone walking around forcefully grinning and smiling and being overly affectionate/polite
so bizarre, it felt like a movie. At one point in my dream, I was with my brother in the back yard watching these massive space ships move about and commenting on how weird it is that we are all just accepting this new normal.
We were talking about how much trouble we could get in if anyone had heard us being non-convivial in the back yard by ourselves as it might be misconstrued as us complaining and being negative.

Also forgot to mention the one part of the dream where you could find back alleys and underground networks consisting of safe spaces where you could be your normal self and engage in normal behavior/conversation, but it was obviously illegal and you could be massively punished for being there.

I dreamt an old friend showed up at my work and threw a bit of my work equipment out of the window and it smashed into loads of pieces. I was worried the client would realise I knew him and refuse to pay for the damage. I then had to run outside and clear up all the pieces which were in danger of being run over by buses as it was a bus terminus outside.

40% of my dreams are about my family breaking apart with my parents splitting up, the other 40% are emotional torture about my ex breaking up with me in the weirdest ways imaginable over and over, the rest 20% are straight up nightmares where i get killed by monsters
