I just don't understand what gives commerce so much depth. Economics, finance, accounting, business studies etc wtf do they even teach you in these?

I have a B.S. in Economics and Finance.

They teach you nothing. Just basic Keynesian shit that doesn’t really work in reality and then a bunch of math for options trading etc. that in the real world you would just have a computer do for you.

i'm aware of what fractional reserve banking is, and I am libertarian to the point where I believe the strictly regulate itself without intervention, but to assume accounting itself is a way for jews to steal your money is preposterous.

Typically you do some generalized classes and then take classes covering the main topic of your degree mixed with some more specialized sub-fields in your degree. A finance major is going to take classes in accounting, economics, and some general business management classes too. Then he's going to take classes like investments, corporate financial, financial strategy, valuation, budgeting, portfolio management, etc. The thing with these degrees is that they don't teach you much but they also give you enough of a systematic education to understand that 90% of people are utterly clueless and tend to repeat memes as gospel. A BS or MBA is definitely worth it as long as you aren't going into debt, but you need to be careful and make sure you have a job in mind that you're going to be able to get with your degree. So many people just study marketing and then drift around after not getting their $200k a year job in NYC. And if I were designing these degrees, I would add more math, and multiple classes to teach public speaking, so stuff like sales, negotiation, and networking; those soft-skills are really valuable because everyone fucking hates public speaking. I'd also add a lot more projects and hands-on type learning.
