On chain burn was never going to be the solution to all of our problems. Anybody who has been here for any serious amount of time can tell you that. The on-chain burn only serves as a catalyst for the off-chain burn. The off chain burn is more of a bonus. If it were to be implemented it would only result in hype and a temporary price increase due to the greater number of burnt coins. At first this was our only hope, since swapping wasn’t even discussed as a solution in the early days. If we take swapping into account, then the effect of the off chain burn will be minimal in comparison. With or without off-chain burns, swapping would still be implemented at roughly the same time. When swapping is implemented it would outpace the burn tax extremely quickly, making it irrelevant. Remember, the only thing that matters is 10B. How we get there doesn’t matter. If the off chain doesn’t get implemented it only means we crab for longer until swapping is up.
