1) if i need to poop i dont do it on my break or lunch break. only during work time
2) any home repairs are not done on holidays or weekends, only during work time
3) need to cook? try to see if you can do it during work time
4) masturbate? could do it during work time.

Now its 6:00PM and you have all your free time to just chill and play video games. all your chores, dishes, repairs, cooking, masturbating has been done.

any other rules youve made for yourself?

you don't. because you are still getting scammed. if you dont get the amount of money where you work for 5 years and then can buy house, car, and support a family then you are being scammed. You should work even less. maybe one hour a day.

my golden rule is:
i will take back the thousands of hours i spent commuting unpaid by my employer, through doing whatever I please on company time.

i spent probably 8 hours a week commuting so say around 400 hours a year, for several years

so now i spend at least 3-4 hours a day doing absolutely nothing and i will continue to do so until they have paid their debt back to me

even if they pay allowance..its still not worth it.
the morning and after work rush hour is insane.

i tried to leave my car at the mechanic at exactly 10:30AM, when no one should be driving..and it was still fucking rush hour madness.

Folks,

I know I am seeing bandwidth being spent on WFH, but I feel I really need to push back and raise some red flags here.

Having an on-site office presence is foundational to our ability to drive efficiencies in a corporate landscape. It is in our DNA. Sure, there is no 'one size fits all' or silver bullet and some are just boilerplate solutions, leveraged to the hilt and really only keeping us at a 30,000-foot-view of things. Being on-site, however, really allows us to get better granularity, find better directional-indicators, or loop back and dive deep into some critical issues on a go-forward basis.

I think if you all start spending more time in the office again, you'll find yourself trending toward the positive, but you'll have to keep an eye on the puck. Gut through it, reduce thrash, and let's stay in lock-step on this. Yes, we will synergize!

What's the root cause of the hatred of Corporate office spaces? I'll put my layman's hat on and guess that it comes from movies such as Office Space and Dilbert cartoons. But we all know that these are fictional spaces, and real office spaces allow us to touch base in a much more efficient manner.

I have to time-box this comment, as I have a hard-stop in a moment when I will have to jump onto a call. So, just one more point that I want to cover-off on: let's socialize the idea of having more office presence and loop back to see whether we're being more impactful. From a management standpoint, I think that we can get the traction to do it.

So, net/net, ignore the naysayers, sidebar the folks that are stuck in the weeds, and don't waste cycles or bandwidth on folks that don't align strongly with this mission. Try it out, and we'll have another touch point in a little while to see if we've moved the needle. Remember, our north star hasn't changed. We're still championing our core values remotely and we will only do it better in person.

If you need me, I will be online again in a bit.

In July last year an Anon replied in a thread about working from home with something like this pasta on /biz/ and a bunch of other replies to people which seemed to be very much in character for some corporate middle manager and it got a shitload of replies. I wish I could find the original thread.

WFH is based. You get so much more LIFE. Most chores can be done during worktime downtime, no commute time either. After 4 PM the day is wide open.

the first year of WFH in 2020, I was just stoned 24/7.
Now that I'm in the midst of year 3, I have actually really shaped up my act out of pure paranoia.
No booze or weed until after EOD.
My manager never noticed any change.

Currently arranging with work to be WFH from abroad next year.

There'll be fewer overlapping hours, and thus (hopefully) fewer meetings I'll need to attend.
There'll be ~10 days more mandatory holidays.
Salary will be reduced somewhat due to higher taxes, but I'll be moving out of an expensive city which should make up for it.

I've currently only been working 6 out of 8 hours, and think I can reduce it further with even less oversight.

1. Go online early and then go back to sleep for another 30 mins or so (ensure a 2nd alarm is already set)
2. After 30 mins, get up and move mouse around and check to see any for any urgent messages/emails. If there are, respond im looking into it and then move on as of there isn't something on fire and go make coffee.
3. Drink coffee and shitpost for 30 mins to an hr and then take a shit
4. Begin actual work at 1030/11
5. Get in bed to take a nap and, as I start to fall asleep, put my away status as lunch
6. Wake up and dick around another 30 mins to an hr
7. Begin more work for another hour or two
8. Get to 3pm and then slack the fuck off until 5. Tie up any loose ends from the day and then do the same shit the next day
