Right now, there are less than 3000 people with 10k link.
I don't know how many 10k+ wallets there were in 2018-2021, but I'd have to think a substantial amount of people sold out and retired.

I don't think you guys really get it. They don't have a choice, they have to let us in. Sure, it didn't have to be US, but it had to be something like us. The value of chainlink isn't in the code or the token or the partnerships. The value is the network. Without us, chainlink has no value. They absolutely NEED people like us who are going to be diehard hold outs and refuse to sell. Look at the mining pool problem on bitcoin or the staking control issue on post merge eth. There is an inevitable trend towards centralization and consolidation. Its a natural law. Maybe its alright for there to be a degree of centralization on certain L1s, but it cannot happen with DONs. Too much is riding on it for it to be allowed to happen. It would be a big upheaval if bitcoin or eth were to be taken over, but it wouldn't throw the world into chaos. But once chainlink starts connecting legacy finance and other applications to the blockchain any corruption of the system has the potential to rock the world. Do you understand? The damage done by corruption of the chainlink network would be orders of magnitude higher than if it were contained to a single L1. We're talking AUTOMATION of every transaction type in the world. The only reason anyone would trust that kind of automation is because its completely secure and decentralizaed.

So thats why they have to let us hold and stake and run nodes. The network MUST have a high level of decentralization, and we are that decentralization. We're a part of the game theory and tokenomics of the project, we probably should be in the whitepaper.

Chainlink is a utility token. Its value is based on its usage ie the fees the network brings in from clients. In order to qualify for high value use cases the network has to be provably decentralized. You're not going to have derivatives worth billions trapped in smartcontracts if the network is controlled by 3 or 4 massive node pools. It just won't happen. So when consolidation and centralization happens the network will lose access to those jobs and the yield will plummet triggering sell offs until the point at which it reaches a suitable level of decentralization such that it qualifies for high value jobs again. And large stakeholders are going to realize that if they haven't already. There is a natural urge to want to monopolize something as much as you can, but in this case doing so lowers the value of your holdings and destroys your investment. Anyway I havent read the NFT post but I thought what a cool way to publish a book, in NFT format. Shitposting aside the economics of book chapters in NFT format are pretty based

A book is published in individual NFT chapters. There are a limited amount of individual chapters available on the market and an owner can only have one chapter at any given time. Something like DECO could be used to maintain the information contained within the NFT only revealing the chapter to the owner and since chapters can only be owned one at a time to read the whole book you need to trade away one NFT for another. A fee could easily be written into the contract all trades for this NFT series reimburse the author at X address

Great idea for comics too except instead of one story there are several and to get the whole story or experience the different versions an individual must trade one for the next facilitating economic engagement better than a simple jpeg that can be saved. the owner of course is incentivized to maintain the information privacy of their chapter otherwise they would destroy the resale value of the NFT. And of course as the popularity of the book or comic increases so does the price and eventually even the most fervent collector would be willing to sell their exclusive 1/7 chapter 216 of Ari's new book.

So publish it as an NFT use DECO to maintain information confidentiality of the book and create an NFT economy around the information contained in the book. Publisher not needed lmao

It could also be more than just a book in a traditional sense, bland pages with paragraphs and page numbers would also have illustrations music easter eggs and other exclusive content connected to the NFT so that people are really excited to experience the whole book. And each individual experience is unique tailored to the expected audience. rather than just a story I think an NFT book would be more of an immersive web3 digital experience and you have to trade to continue the experience. It's not some cringe second life copy its something the author wants you to experience like one of Ari's mind games/puzzle tweets.
