Yea, it's a dystopian hellscape of megacorps, unceremonious death, and bleak outlooks. With the medium of anime, you get lots of "if we believe in ourselves we can do it guys" kind of tripe which is good for your typical weekly shonen jump but can come off as juvenile for more mature audiences. That is not the case with edge runners and I kind of went in figuring there'd be some emotional stuff but the tonal whiplash the show will lay on you is intense if you're not bracing for it. This show will flatline your ass if you go in thinking it's some typical shonen affair. I won't say it's better than Gurren Lagann, but it hit me in the feels a lot harder than Lagann did and Lagann still sticks with me to this day.

Normally I don't feel bad for /a/ since they're a bunch of autistic fuckwits, but this show is blowing up their board badly right now. At one point there were like 10 or so threads on the show in the first few pages. I would hate to think it was a corporate shilling attempt and instead retards who don't know how to use the catalog but who knows.
