Slow day on the market while everyone focuses on the merge.

Will the merge affect ENS domain prices long term?

Why are Singles still so cheap?

>Why are Singles still so cheap?
most singles are trash, and the non-trash ones definitely aren't cheap. they are appropriately valued such as polar bear selling for 25 and flaming heart selling for 100. no longer possible to get a good entry price
not enough supply to create liquidity, volume mainly driven by a handful of whales
rotated out of ethmojis into short words/digits for these reasons
>Will the merge affect ENS domain prices long term?
ofc, corpos can finally buy ETH and still remain ESG compliant. ENS's value is a direct function of ETH adoption. this might quite literally be the last day before liftoff assuming no hiccups with the merge

Why are all the cheaper singles, Singles of Color? How do we promote diversity and inclusion with single ethmoji pricing?

Yes because normie golems will no longer be able to cancel companies that want to build on it because of le climate impact. Long-term it's also the first step towards a multitude of other upgrades and integrations that will literally make ethereum the supreme blockchain by adding scalability, more security/stability, and privacy. Basically most of the justifications other chains have for their existence will be void. "Merge will reduce gas fees" was/is a common misconception with what's planned for after the merge i.e. sharding/zk rollups etc, but it's still all happening. ENS automatically profits off of literally every positive change on Ethereum, it's like being long on ETH but with less risk and no liquidations compared to futures as long as you buy good names.

>most singles are trash
There is no such thing as a "trash" 1-character ENS domain. It's like saying something is a "trash" Punk or a "trash" Bored Ape.

The rarity is so crazy, there's only 1356 single character domains out of the soon-to-be hundreds of millions of ENS names.

For comparison, there are about 360 million web2 domains, and that's before you essentially need at LEAST one for every person on the planet.

yeah and 3 letter grails are less than half the supply while being infinitely more recognizable
you're not going to convince me that someone would pay more to build an identity around leblackfamilyphotoemoji.eth than cap.eth

>muh identity
I'm tired of this argument. ENS names are not really "identities" at all, maybe they can be if you buy your own name. But none of the people spending $50,000 for 513.eth are actually "identifying" as that number.

They buy it because of rarity, exclusivity, collectors items, etc. It's essentially another NFT with added utility. None of these ENS domains are identities unless you ALREADY identified as something and specifically bought a matching ENS. Virtually nobody identifies as a number or 3 letters unless it's their specific initials. So this is all bullshit.

>>51439533
Literally just rambling. Who cares? Goldens are already higher valued. But all singles are singles.

Or perhaps .eth

Wait you mean my single pilot emoji isnt actually unique at all?

Ill take any single codepoint triple over any skintone variation single any day of the week.

tons of people on twitter identify exclusively by their number, retard. ever heard of 6529? ever heard of rappers shouting out their area code?

identity and flex, those are the strongest bull cases for Ethereum vanity names. everything else is speculation

In addition to this, all nfts have a unique number, say bored ape #4560. Someone wh heavily identifies with their nft (most do) could also want to own 4560.eth or 4560.sol as it pertains to their nft number which is also their identity.

Like zombie emoji, they intentionally create an "identity" around the names just to drive speculation.

Not saying they're wrong to do that, it's just the fact. These identities aren't real, they're just an aspect of the speculative market.

There's nothing stopping people from identifying with their ethmoji, just as they might with their Ape. The exclusivity of the single will be so strong even some white guy coder in the Bay Area will "identify" as the single black guy with a blind person cane emoji.
