Its a loss from over 2 years ago, ive since recovered. PnL for this year is like +70k. Hey, kind of new to trading. I was thinking about buying puts on AKRO because it doubled in value in the premarket, but the only puts that I could find required that it dump in price by almost 60% in order for me to simply break even. The whole idea of buying a put is to take advantage of huge unwarranted spikes in a stock's value, right? If the stock must go to LOWER than its "normal" levels in order to break even, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of buying puts on something that's overvalued? If it had to dump by 20% or 30%, then buy the puts would be worth the gamble, but 56%? You see what I mean?

Your logic is sound but puts need volume and a certain IV to be profitable. Also options usually arent priced in until open despite what pre/after market does. At open you will see the options move in price to reflect the current price and volatility. You could take a put position at that point but wait until after the first 30 min of trading. the price of options is spiked up during that time.
