I honestly lost hope in everything I did as my traditional and crypto investments failed and I was trying to recover by investing again. I'm thinking of other ways but couldn't think of any way. How did you manage your financial matters? I feel like I'm getting older and still poor.

Depressed af bro. Been depressed my whole life. Only person I’ve ever had that gave a fuck about me is my mom. Got ripped off for 10 btc in 2015. Had a btc faucet that I put a lot of work into but I was too generous with the payouts and lost more than I made from adsense. So I gave up on crypto and got back into it last year right as the market was going to shit. Got lucky on play and turned 200 into 5k but lost most of it from nothing but rugs. I have zero fucking luck in crypto I swear. Been living paycheck to paycheck my entire life and don’t see myself ever making it. Not to mention my rent just went up to $1800 which is like 2/3 of what I make. Wish I could of been born a boomer.

My financial health is fine, every month i seem to have more money than the last without really trying, now sitting at 150k in liquid assets and no debt. The main problem i keep running up against is being an unemployed 27 year old alcoholic drug addicted hermit. I just cant bring myself to care most days, some days i cant even bring myself to turn on my computer to trade even though ive already done my DD and know its literally free real estate. often go 2 or 3 weeks at a time without seeing the sun. havent cut my hair in 4 years. im a mess.

Like what? Name some? Everytime I invest into a lowcap, even one that has utility it just fucking rugs or goes nowhere. LUNC’s burn is right around the corner. I’m trying to make some money now to spread around into other projects. I’ve been waiting on pulsechain for like 15 months making absolutely nothing from crypto and it’s taken a major toll on my Mental health. I only put like $300 into LUNC and its worth maybe double that now. Other than I can’t really afford to do anything else.

I go for walks at night when i know i wont run into anybody. As far as learning to day trade goes im not really sure. I just kept doing it until i stopped losing money. First few years i lost money, eventually the price action just started to make sense and i began to win more than i lost. After a while i was up enough that when my wagie job got turbulent i felt comfortable leaving and just not going back. I think risk management is a lot more important than good TA though. Being able to cut your losses consistently will do you a lot more good than being right about trades an extra 5% of the time will. I do this thing where as soon as i buy any security i immediately put up my limit orders at +3 to 4% and -2% to -3% and just let the market decide when i exit. Just taking advanrage of small differentials in risk and reward that propagate easily as long as i adhere to my own rules. My idea of DD is mostly just watching commodity contracts and trying to extrapolate those moves to stock tickers.

So like in the same way a lot of traders will watch oil price contracts move for WTI and brent crude then use that information to bet on individual oil companies, you can also make similar decisions by watching thinks like lumber contracts and extrapolate those moves to forestry companies or watch iron ore contracts and extrapolate those moves to miners and smelters. You can also look ahead at future contracts and compare prices. For example people are currently willing to pay 585 dollars per board-foot for lumber delivered in may 2023, but the spot price today is 554 dollars. Maybe that means lumber is finding a bottom right now, so maybe companies that sell lumber will be able to capitalize on that. its a lot of guess work and nothing is ever certain, i just kind of watch how the numbers change day to day and if charts start to look "good enough" to buy combined with some underlying market information i'll make a bet. If im right i take money early and if im wrong i get out before i lose too much.

you can find contracts for fertilizers, copper, steel, gold, pork bellies, electricity - pretty much anything that gets moved around in bulk.

>> No.51398625

>>51398512
then theres just knowing what tickers are going to be tied to what. Some of them are obvious, things like exxon and shell move with oil contracts, things like canfor and interfor and west-fraser move with lumber, rio moves with iron. Then some other ones are sneaky, nutrien follows fertilizer contracts but also behaves like a leveraged oil consumer, bhp follows nickel moves, glencore follows copper moves even though its only 40% of their production. That kind of stuff you just figure out from watching rhe charts long enough

If you arent living in canada youll have more options for brokers with better deals, i have limited options.

For actually looking up charts and data ill go all over the place.
marketwatch is good for looking up different contracts
oilprice.com i check every day and flip though how different blends of oil are trading
tradingview is great for looking at historical ticker data and indicators

Very strained.
This year has been a shitshow for so many reasons, stocks and crypto doesn't even factor in at this point.
Jan 1st, I got word that my contractors needed an extra 15k for their work, so that wiped out my cash reserves and so was struggling all the way until March.
Then I rebuild my cash funds while planning a wedding. Finally, heat for the home rose to 400% and even if we paid that much, everything is sold out so it is impossible to buy as much as I need, so now I am actually broke again.
I don't understand why people talk so much about food when electricity is doubled and heat is quadrupled in price. I pay way more for utilities than I do in food now. Utilities is almost $1000/month at this point. The whole "just dca into the market while there is a recession" sounds a lot easier than it is.
Sure, I had some expensive stuff planned and the little investing I could do this year is basically just to take me back to where it was at Christmas. But holy shit, utilities going from 350ish to 1000/month while everything else also getting more expensive is insane.
And it is not like anyone has gotten a raise yet. With these prices, I can't afford to have heat in the entire home, I have to barricade myself in ⅙ of the house and pray things get better.
