Tesla. My kind of workplace. Where the wheels of government subsidies and corporate welfare never stop spinning. A corporate banking government climate change fraud complex that drives this world of EV buying redditors and wall street boomers. Tesla is a tough company. If you tweet something negative about elon musk you can get fired and called a pedophile. If you slave for more overtime you could really hit it big. I mean really big. You could make a thousand thousandth of a percent bonus from stimulus packages elon musk gets.

They clearly want to get rid of cash. Even now cash has become a hassle. We've become so accustomed to very quick payment methods as time goes on, now dealing with cash is an inconvenience. Everything will have a paper trail, because that's what they want. Corporations will eventually know you better than you know yourself due to AI being able to autistically pick apart your personality through purchase history, web browsing habits and what you watch.

The Sep VIX future (and option) expires morning of 9/21, same day as FOMC. The settlement is based on the price of a strip of 1 million options on the SPX morning of 9/21.

I have 2 observations
>1)
It appears unlikely market will be very willing to part with these options below a certain volatility level. So, we are likely close to the VIX floor ahead of meeting
> 2)
It is really interesting that "vol of vol"...ie, the level of VIX option premiums is so low (1st %ile over last 5 years) given the importance of FOMC. VIX Sep 24 straddle is ~2.65...break-evens 21.35-26.65.

This means that volatility is underpriced.

pic seems like a reasonable prediction, but I'm admittedly very curious what the updated short interest will be on PRTY (which will come out Monday after close). If it breaks out of $2.67, any short position opened within the last month will be in the red.

It's not a "short squadoodle" play at the moment given the 9% short interest, but maybe it could turn into one eventually if bears view the recent pump as illegitimate? The shares available to short has plummeted in the last two weeks from 2 mill to around 400k, which is interesting.

You're running a 3-month short 30-delta strangle position in SX5E versus a 1-year long 30-delta strangle position in SX7E.

If your objective in a hedge ratio to is to minimize the expected market directionality of the trade (e.g., beta to SX5E index returns), how would you estimate that hedge ratio, e.g. how much long vega to run per 1 euro of vega on the short leg?

HOWEVER I can say with an absolute certainty that disciplines hand is tied. Education follows the absolute equality. Even if black students make up half the school but end up being 90% of all disc infractions only a tenth of those end up actually being followed through on so as not to seem racist. Even stuff like bringing drugs onto school which is supposed to be a zero tolerance policy is not followed up on.

selling deep itm covered calls chasing momentum to protect your longs is one way of hedging. Buy them back later once you think things are going to turn around and then roll the profits into a spread. Of course the risk being the market goes absolutely ballistic in a rally. But really -- that'd be so fucking gay at this point

Because they want the economy to grow by introducing money. Even if its not used well or whatever. Thats why Social security is really a stimulus program not a welfare program. Money being introduced helps expand the economy. In times of inflation its too much expanding that it hurts people. But eventually us will become even richer as it continues to expand. The point is to absorb every other countries economy into the USD system. A first step to the US annexing every country eventually. Thats why the US doesnt care that euros are getting btfo right now.

Only if you arent in the stock market. The whole point is that the american individual can take advantage of this system if they are also a capitalist and not a laborer. By abosrbing the worlds economy companies get stronger and the investors are enriched. Too many americans think the country was meant to work for laborers because of the more recent times of factories and such. America was always a bourgeoise/capitalist country. All the founders were small businessmen and investors of stuff.

Because it forces money to be invested to retain its purchasing power, hence making sure capital is easily available for productive enterprise.

Ofc, in practice many working people don't have time or are not well suited for determining what is and is not a good use of their savings as capital, so an equitable system should also ensure a risk-free return via government bonds which is equal or in excess of the inflation rate. We have not had this in a long time, which is one factor in the discontent the working class feels.

Slight inflation encourages spending money now whereas deflation just encourages hoarding. The gold standard was abandoned for many reasons, the least of which was when the global economy started growing faster than gold could be mined out of the ground it was a constant deflationary force.
Because on a gold or shitcoin (like Papa shitcoin, BTC) "standard", you just hoard everything. And anyone who ever takes out a loan becomes a literal slave. Even ancient times realized this which is why they had frequent debt jubilees.

I think our constraints are much more like 74 on the supply side, while the demand side is really impacted by the fact the countries consuming oil in 2022 are different from 2008. Effectively these Chinese lockdowns *are* a 2008 hit and look what that's done to the price.

You'd need an ultra giga recession to cut emerging market demand even further to the bone. But if it gets so bad that the Sri Lanka types can't even subsidize things, then the Libya types will fall into chaos and start impacting the supply side.
