It's a strong currency because the US is better at protecting global energy supply lines with violence than anyone else. Simple as.
But as the US becomes less willing and able to do this, so too will USD weaken.

America is a net oil exporter now. Most international debt is denominated in dollars. Most commodities transactions have to take place in dollars. As everyone devalues they need dollaridoos.

Both were printing like crazy
US was first to begin raising interest rate and is doing so more quickly
Europe can't be as aggressive in rate hikes, otherwise they would crash southron economies

it is strange and more than a little entertaining to witness this friction among Euro countries. There are definitely US states that make, and others that take, but the US system seems a lot more functional than the Eurozone

everyone is rushing to get dollars. Its the reserve currency for the entire world pretty much.
Sweden, germany, denmark, france, Japan, etc etc etc ... everyone transacts in dollars between each other.
Now .. if everyone is cash poor, and needs to fund operations in their respective nations, and they pay it with dollars.

What do you think that does to the DXY ?
Furthermore. Due to Russia Ukraine , russian energy is no longer in play as much as it used to be. And everyone relies on America a bit more. Everyone is buying more energy from America. More dollars gets collected in America and it goes even higher..

Its not that complicated. Generally speaking this is what is happening.
In terms of business, a strong DXY is bad for stocks, economy, and the world. (dumbfuck amerifat retards dont seem to understand this). And furthermore, the relative strength of the dollar is dissolving. No bueno.

Another thing id like to point out is. Usually you dont see the DXY and commodities spike at the same time. Usually a stronger DXY pushes commodities down. And vice versa. This is the first time ever, that this has happened that they rally together.
Former BlackRock fund manager Edward Dowd seems to believe this is an indicator of the debt based system starting to implode. Who knows.. They may be able to patch it back together. But we know its been failing since 2019 (convenient excuse coming in 2020 to paper it over tho) etc.

basically the world works with "ok but I genuinely want what you have"
Everyone wants what the US can provide for them whether that be security, deterrence, food and resources, and all of this with a high reliability rating. China or Russia can sell people stuff, but their future is uncertain and reliability is low. Countries will think "Well, can you really compete with the US and its allies and can you guarantee you won't crumble in the next few years? I don't want to cut them off to gamble with you especially considering you lie a lot."
