A chain that featured a decentralized algostable pair (LUNC / USTC) that had it's price crash from over $100 to ~0.00005 in May due to flaws in the protocol's design, and has been on a steady upwards recovery back to it's original price ever since then due to massive community efforts to revive the chain and fix the issues that led to the attack on the chain in the first place.

LUNC is a coin that was used to collateralize the decentralized aglostable USTC.

>HTF did LUNC crash?
LUNC crashed as a result of excessive minting that was done to try and defend the USTC peg. As a result of this excessive minting, the circulating supply of LUNC shot up from several hundred million to over 6.9 Trillion at it's highest. As of this post the circulating supply is currently under 6 trillion and decreasing every day as people continue to stake.

USTC is an algostable that was 1:1 pegged to 1 USD via a mechanism where LUNC served as collateralization for USTC, and arbitrage opportunities would present themselves for traders to take advantage of if USTC were ever to be deviate from it's $1 peg (if USTC was above $1, 1 LUNC could be burnt for 1 USTC, with the trader pocketing the difference as profit. Inversely, if USTC was below $1, 1 USTC could be burnt for 1 LUNC, again with the trader pocketing the difference as profit.

Since the market cap of LUNC was lower then the market cap of USTC due to the bear market and couldn't fully collateralize USTC in May, a large amount of USTC was dumped on the market, which caused USTC to become depegged from $1, and triggered a bank run as people panic sold USTC to preserve what capital they felt they could as trust in the peg was lost, which only served to make the situation worse and led to a crash in USTC's price.

Terra Classic with LUNC / USTC, the original chain which was renamed from LUNA / UST to LUNC / USTC; and Terra with LUNA and no matching algostable as of this time (making the chain largely pointless)

No. For months the chain was halted due to staking being disabled, but thanks to the efforts of a large group of community volunteers that have been working to revive the chain called Terra Rebels, staking on Terra Classic was re-enabled in August and is now functioning normally.

Not quite. A clear solution has existed this entire time to restore the value of the chain, and that's to do a burn of LUNC. CZ himself, the CEO of Binance; also tweeted publicly about how a burn of LUNC was the only way to revive the Terra chain. Unfortunately, true to form, the arrogant asshole that is Do Kwon again ignored those calls to action from everyone in the space and forced the chain fork through.

During those times things seemed pretty grim, but the LUNC community is not one to give up. During that time of uncertainty, Terra Rebels successfully implemented and released burn code after multiple successful governance proposals with the community in favour of the burn, testing on multiple testnets, and validators on Terra Classic are now running their nodes with that burn code implemented but disabled (and able to be turned on via a governance proposal that was passed by the community in under an hour). TFL (Terraform Labs), the foundation that helped run the Terra Classic chain before the crash has also been pivotal in helping get these releases out and has been working with the community to help recover the chain as well.

Actually, supporting the burn tax is THE MOST PROFITABLE THING THE CEX COULD BE DOING. It's simple. If the CEXes don't support LUNC, the burn tax momentum will slow and the LUNC trading volume will go away. That means less profits for CEXes. No one wants that. What would be MUCH better for CEXes to do (and also helps explain the recent price movement in LUNC outside of retail, whales, and FOMO) is to buy large amounts of LUNC supply NOW before the burn at lower prices, running up the price of LUNC in the process, and then pocket the difference in fees as pure profit when their users pay the 1.2% tax off chain on trading volume.

It's literally that simple, and there's STUPID amounts of profit in it to be had. It's how brokers work when you buy stocks through them. The exact same principles would be at play. This creates a situation where everyone wins. Exchanges get hella profit from trading volume / LUNC tax delta fees, traders get hella profit from price appreciation of LUNC, supply contracts due to the burn and the chain continues to recover, and everyone makes money and likely a new bullrun kicks off from all of this as FOMO takes hold (making even more money for exchanges - bull markets only emerge from bear markets, after all; and we all know we're in a bear market right now). There's just no way CEXes won't support the burn. It's the most profitable thing they could be doing, and we all know how exchanges love their profit.

same thing happened to me recently, turns out you don't need a memo on Kraken. I have no idea why, because every cex has a huge wallet for each coin and uses memos to differentiate between its users separate wallets, but Kraken obviously doesn't need it for LUNC (I don't have a clue how they manage to keep users' coins separate without a memoe). I sent my coins over without a memo to my LUNC address on Kraken, and they arrived without a problem.

having said all that, test it out first with a tiny transaction, use something like 100 LUNC. if it works send the rest of your stack in 4-5 large chunks.
