>Work 85% of your life slaving away
i've been thinking lately. What jobs would allow you to work 6 months, take 6 months off and find a new job relatively easy and rinse and repeat? i just think working 11/12 months 80% of your time is not worth any amount of money. It's literal slavery.

In Australia our mining workers do a week on week off schedule and make a full years wage in 6 months, a lot of people work a sec9nd hustle during the week off

This.. There's going to be a huge commodities boom in Australia over the next few years as asset bubbles collapse and commodities lead a growth recovery so Australia is primed to recover quickly.

If you have any skills and can get a job in the aus mines I suggest you take it because the pay is pretty good $150-300k for most skilled jobs.. truck operators, trades etc

Oil rig, deep sea fishing, teaching, contracting in virtually anything. You'll be underpaid and a scab, but you'll have more freedom.

High voltage electrician
Deep sea fisherman
Wildland firefighter
The trick is not spending all of it on women and booze during the off period and not getting hooked on pills to cope with backbreaking dangerous work.

australian economy is too dependant on the chinese bug hives needing iron ore and coal. any slowdown in china can hurt them way too much.
