PoS is worse for the network because under PoS, the actors who amass on-chain wealth and the actors who provide transaction inclusion and security are the same actors, instead of competing interests like they are under PoW.
PoS also features a strong bias of currency flow from the set of users who do not stake to the set of users who do. Given that the average user who stakes is orders of magnitude more wealthy than the average user who just uses the network, this leads to a concentration of wealth in the hands of the staking set. This is by design, given the push towards a policy of decreasing (and even net negative) issuance.
