Yes. IQ is meaningful, but there is a temperament I've seen in people that is probably right up there if not superior to IQ for getting results. They use all sorts of words for it and I guess the closest is "grit", but that doesn't encapsulate it entirely. There is also this element of mental sobriety that these people have. They're tenacious, but also not even remotely prone to putting up with bullshit unless it is part of a larger plan. These are the people that get laid by the hottest women despite being nothing special themselves, they have 3 businesses fail and keep going only to become a millionaire on the next, nothing phases them. They just grab life by the balls and while everyone in the Matrix is grabbing at them and shouting at them that it can't be done or "you're hurting my feelings! give up!", with blood dripping down their nose, and a smile, they just keep pushing on. That sort of resilience and tenacity isn't IQ, but it is some really important stuff. The ability to make people care about helping you because they just see you will not stop.
