Issuing bonds paid for via printing base money (i.e. QE) IS printing. There is no firewall between base and broad money like you think there is. This is what you don't understand, and why you are wrong. Base money can and does leak into broad money. Credit creation is not required. The Fed is WAY more powerful than you think they are.
