Are Ethereum devs really going through with POS? Just suddenly leave miners hanging dry like that without an advanced warning?

Would be real fucked up by them if they did. Maybe even against the law. You can't just fire someone from work and not give them severance money.
Cryptos need a community. Ethereum ditching its community like this will not be good for them.

It's been common knowledge since June at least. As in big news outlets announcing it. So you had 3 months in advance. Beyond that they announced they were planning to roll it out this year since February, 9 months in advance. beyond that they have been working and attempting to do this for the past 5 years.
It's your fault for being a retard and investing in an asset that is straight up telling you that they're working on getting rid of the need for your investment.
How many times have you seen the news and typed ">implying the merge will ever happen", I wonder.

Go mine ETC or FIRO or something.

When you decided to buy your mining rig and plug it into a chain and chose ETH, did you do it because you saw their excellent, democratic governance model or was it because you saw the big green Dollar signs?
Don't act like you give a shit about the community. Everyone wants this EXCEPT miners.

>Are Ethereum devs really going through with POS?
Yeah, in all likelihood they will.
>Just suddenly leave miners hanging dry like that without an advanced warning?
As someone that mines ETH (and a variety of other coins) it's been an inevitability that's been known about for some time, anyone not expecting it is either incredibly ignorant or actively denying reality.
We've had years to prepare, my plan has always been that when it finally hits I'll test and sell my GPUs (provided they're in good condition) and reinvest that money into AMD CPUs then move to XMR.
>inb4 "Why not some other GPU mined currency?"
Because (last I checked) the next most profitable coin (which I believe was RVN) isn't even 50% as profitable as ETH, that'll become even worse when every GPU miner switches and starts mining/dumping it for pure profit.
The margins on XMR are still extremely tight but I actually use it and like the coin.

>> No.51193887

>without advanced warning
its been years since this shit has been announced anon
also devs need to focus on the long term profits instead of the short term ones

yes, losing the miners might be a loss for them but merging means that Ethereum can go through with sharding and eventually make the chain much more efficient and gasless with the help of L2s like Polygon and their multipurpose scaling solutions

Your problem is that you think there is only PoS or PoW and its a choice between those two. You think that way because you are low IQ.
