If you want to play safe you can. Remember it's always a matter of risk / rewards.
Personnaly I made the same ratio gains and I cashed out 80% yesterday because I feel troubles incoming. I might be wrong but at least I have my gains and kept some of my strongest positions. (Mid long term).
Again if you want to feel safe you can cash out 50% or even only your inital investment. So if there is a crash you can invest deep into the crash and if market moons, well you will gain less.
It's a matter of probabilities.
Adjust your money managment to your probabilities.
Stay reasonable.

Time traveler here. 2018 was the boom of crypto. You have no idea.

Also, Bitcoin is goin in rocket mode today. When the king speaks, all listen. If your a trader I wouldn't be in an alt. If your a hodler, your fine.

If you constantly exchange crypto to usd for arbitrage trading, is each trade taxable?

Just put it in a token that doesn't care about whether BTC rises or falls.

Anything that's Proof of Stake. OMG and REQ's a solid bet because these are payment processors. These will be useful, regardless if the currencies end up falling. Invest it in actual, useful technology instead of the BTC tulip.

we're clearly in a bubble, but I wouldn't worry too much until:
>investors start selling crypto products (pension funds, etc)
>crypto instruments start popping up everywhere

stop caring about usd gains and care about btc gains

Take out your initial investment plus 20% and leave the rest in the game.

or you know... put money into ETH, which has been around forever, has a solid dev team and can actually deliver the technology.

This man is fucking stupid, assuming that BTC is all that will matter.

USD gains are all that matter because BTC's in a fucking bubble since it's not using the blockchain in an inventive way, and has no real-world use cases besides being used to speculate.

Maybe measuring your gains in sats was correct before the massive spike these past few months, but now it means nothing because you assume it's going to forever go on up, and that everything will forever be measured against BTC, which is retarded.

This sounds good friends. But I don't want to sell my precious stacks. Maybe I'll skim 20% across the board...

I do think another BTC pump is coming but I also think a longer term crash is overdue.

Only profits are taxed, but if I leave USD in exchange, it's not taxed? I think gemini is the only one I'd trust with like 10k usd

the moment you convert BTC/USD it's taxable. it doesn't matter if your fiat money is in the exchange or in your bank account.

Create a safety fund (10-20k) from fiat and gold to keep you sleeping at night. Leave the rest in crypto and chill.

worst case scenario - you'll lose several k of money that you don't really need.

best case scenario - you've made it
