you constrict your throat and speak with a vocal fry. these two make you sound nervous and kind of weak.
take deep breaths and practice making the lowest, most resonant "Uhhhhhhhhhhh" sound you can without the vocal fry. also practice saying sentences with as deep a voice as you can. you shouls feel the vibrations of your voice in your chest.
