Pic related is from the Zeppelin OS whitepaper. For the few of you who haven't read it yet, Zeppelin aims to provide a free, open source smart contract development layer on top of the EVM, in order to standardise smart contract development, provide better security, and provide consistency while still maintaining decentralisation and consensus.

It is likely that this will constitute the base development layer for future smart contracts and dApps on Ethereum. As is says in pic related, ZeppelinOS will provide a standard interface for interacting with off-chain information. They have already announced who they have been working with in that regard.

In short, a certain popular project on /biz/ is going to be the automatic go-to mechanism for off-chain data being accessed during smart contract and dApp development on the Ethereum network.
