How do you justify the costs of setting up a mining rig when investing that money pretty much guarantees much higher returns at this point?

I could spend 3 XMR on a mining rig that takes 6 months to reach its ROI.......based on current XMR prices. But in that time I'll have only mined a fraction of that and monero will have probably mooned far beyond where it's worth it to sink the cash into the mining rig in the first place.

Is that .. milk crates...?

And that wiring isn't meant to be loaded like that.

You've more chance of it going on fire before making a profit yo'

It's not my picture, it's from google lol.

But yes milk crates are great cases, I'm planning on transferring my build into one pretty soon

I have free electricity (student)
I have a gtx 1080ti
I buy 5 more
I profit

This is my justification. Its great passive income and I can always resell my GPUS if (when) ZEC crashes.

I think mining rigs probably get you a lot of pussy

Nah probably not.

I just don't see the point of dropping $200 on another GPU, for example, that gets an additional $55/mo (I calculated) when you could drop that on 0.6 XMR which will probably appreciate far more than that in the same time frame.

Besides by the time the ROI period is up, you could then use the profits from the almost-guaranteed price appreciation to just buy the same (or better) cards at discounted prices. Am I missing something here?

gotta heat up my room somehow

Imagine waking up every day checking your coins to see if they're still there, but instead you're driving to a warehouse to make sure your coin printing machine hasn't exploded or isn't stolen.

That actually is a very small part of why I'm doing it. I live in the basement so the heat is kinda nice, and ostensibly trickles upward through the rest of the house too. In the summer though I'm fucked.
