Is that your pic OP?

My lowest point was when I was literally homeless. I had just gotten out of the hospital for intestinal bleeding and my mom notifies me a week later that I'm losing the apartment (that she generously helped me with throughout college not going to lie giving credit where credit is due). Just going through intense depression and senioritis, I could not finish my last two classes. I totally agree with her making me homeless but I was on death's door after that hospital visit, which was caused by doctors fugging up a routine endoscopy.

I would live in my car try to eat food and throw it up a minute later things like that. Her reason was, "Son I want to retire. I also need you to clean out your apartment so I can show it to the next person I'm subleasing it to."

I needed to be kicked out. But we've never been the same since. Family doesn't let family die. But anyway that's my story I've recovered since and I have about 100K saved since I did the major in something useful at least but I'm 35 and have tons of health problems that stem from that experience still.

I was in college. Living in a tiny roach infested place. When I unfolded the single bed I could not open the door to the room to get out. To get to the bathroom you opened the door to the 3x3 hall closet, walked in to the right where the wall was supposed to be which was the opening to the bathroom. Taking as many classes as I could to finish as fast as I could. Mom said she ran out of money to help (already took out loans). Mom has breakdown says she is going to kill herself. Barely any money for food. Was eating one Taco Bell $0.39 been burrito a day. Would clip coupons out and buy bread and the cheapest "food" I could find at the store and try to use all the coupons even though i did not buy the time for the coupon to lower the total. Stress was terrible. I wore the same jeans every day, and it showed. In addition to the mega course load I worked in the physics and environmental departments part time. It was rough but I made it.

It was a then or never option. Once you start working you need to compete for promotions. Once I got my first professional job I worked way too many hours to be able to go to school part time, plus with my major I needed the weekends for numerous trips and six weeks during the summer. If I had rich parents I would have cruised it live everyone else. There this rich blond girl at school driving around in $120,000 convertable Porche carera. I had wrecked chevy that I drove to and from school once every six or nine months.

I lived in a rundown apartment with 4 other people for one year and then 5 years in a less shitty apartment with drunks. They would blast music in the night, puke, break shit.
I had my own room, but the walls were paper thin and I could hear almost everything and this went on during all of my university years and even some years when I got employed.
But I saved a lot of money this way.

Idk why people always cite this as though it was really shit. Who gives af. I still shop carefully and look for discounts and I have 60k Link and my own home. To complain about doing it as a student sounds spoiled. I still eat well and am generous to others but being frugal is how I got here and its not easily unprogrammed. Why should we give free money to the shareholders of some supermarket chain? No thanks, I'll take the discount instead.
