I trust these zoom callers implicitly. Ethereum is more than just a monetary network, and it's a lot for them to try and govern, so I sympathize with the need to make tough calls. If I get slashed from the network from being stuck on coinbase during merge, well that's just the result of the democratic social consensus. Being opposed to democracy is anti-ESG, and ESG becoming standarized everywhere seems to be the future. I just can't wait to see what is built on a PoS ethereum, as I'm in it for the tech. I used to feel bad about only discovering crypto in late 2020, but now I think things are just getting started and we're early. Even if PoS ethereum suffers full regulatory capture that is insanely bullish for the tech too, fixating on things like decentralization is just some old dogma that gets in the way of growth and devs trying new things.
