Should I start using xmr like a savings account via dca, but with the intention of storing wealth, not investing with the hope of gains? How risky is this?

It will only go to 0 if the protocol/all crypto technology fails somehow. If we go into a regulatory crypto winter it'll just go lower than it is now. Just include btc and maybe eth in your dca and now you have a good portfolio

Highly unlikely it will ever go to zero. Privacy is now at the forefront of crypto as well. Keep the DCA, I also have an XMR savings/retirement. It's a scarce store of value with increasing usage.

I've been doing this for the past year or so. XMR is the only crypto I really trust since it is basically immune to regulation, tracking, and taxes. I also DCA into BTC too but not as much and am ready to dump it all into XMR at a moments notice. You can say it's risky but if the last few years have shown us anything its that banks and the US government are not to be trusted and only serve the needs and wants of elite oligarchs.

Monero has been steadily, quietly bleeding for years now. This isn't a secret, we all know this.

If I was you I'd inject my bags on something newer like shibnobi ($shinja) - new chains, new projects, etc. No nfts and no boomer shit (LTC, XMR, Bitcoin Cash, Real Ethereum etc). Old stuff is dying new stuff is surfacing, etc. The cycle.
